Why does this song do this to me? It hits where no one does.

'Heirloom' was an existing instrumental track titled "Crabcraft" by electronic musician Console, from his 1998 album Rocket in the Pocket. Björk contacted Console in early 2000 and they met in London; she then added her vocals on top.

Yes. And "Crabcraft" was itself based on a sample from OMD's "Sacred Heart".

Thanks so much for this. The Console version is amazing: listening to it I had a phantom Bjork vocal going too. That was great!

this song just reminds me of how my mother treated me as a child, my mother and son being her and my kid self

Aztec two-step back in time for me to remember nudging a floof off my keyboard while listening to this so that I could work. But even external CRT with thinkpad docking station & bets hedged perfectly with dual external raidarray wasn't grindcore enough to stave off the spyware delivered to me by Jairisson Industries. Scrap that install & model spice to generate seed microcode for Septimus & Geminai. Vespertine sounds like boots breaking a thin crust of ice atop snow. Fluffy snow, like that floof napping on the keys, in the warmth of the t42p. My boots make sounds like that, now, in between the midwest condescension & the walk up to the snowblind where I now keep the tools of my trade.

I have a recurrent dream Every time I lose my voice I swallow little glowing lights My mother and son baked for me During the night They do a trapeze walk Until they're in the sky Right above my bed While I'm asleep My mother and son pour into me Warm glowing oil Into my wide open throat I have a recurrent dream Every time I feel a hoarseness I swallow warm glowing lights My mother and son baked for me They make me feel so much better They make me feel better We have a recurrent dream Every time we lose our voices We dream we swallow little lights Our mother and sons bake for us During the night They do a little trapeze walk Until they're in the sky (Right above our heads) Right above our heads While we're asleep My mother and son pour into us Warm glowing oil Into our wide open throats I have a recurrent dream They make me feel better They make me feel better
I edit existing film and animation to pair with Björk's songs that don't have an official video. As much as possible, I attempt for the visuals to coincide with the lyrics.
