Björk on working with vocal collaborators for the Medúlla album: "It really felt great to work with people who sing. To watch them go through the usual vocalist things like battle dry vocal chords and how private it is to sing some of your first takes of songs. How sensitive it is what time of the day you sing and all sort of stuff I have usually secretly carried by myself. It felt totally different from anything I have ever done. More natural and effortless. I liked all of us to make any special noises we could on the new album. Sometimes there's a kind of weave or blend where nobody is more important than anybody else; other times I wanted each singer to have a sort of solo."

Yes, I too consider the voices as music, that's what makes Bjork even more cherished for having made an album void of all instruments, except for the instrument of vocal chords.

How did I miss a Mike Patton and Bjork combo? It's the strange and beautiful sounds of my younger years together at long last. I'm not surprised you two found each other. Looks like I'm late to the party...

This entire album, with very few exceptions, is entirely made with the human voice. It was an amazing endeavor. Everything you heard in this particular video is indeed just vocals. Unbelievable.

I don't get it. It's just dissonance.
@eduardoalfonso37652 жыл бұрын
I don't know if I get it or not. Maybe it is just dissonance, but from second one I have felt so . . . so . . . so Bjorked, that I haven't paid attention to its dissonance. To me Bjork's voice is like those sirens (or mermaids?) who lure sailors to death. So I feel a bit lucky for that.
