Hi, just stumbled upon your channel. I’m not a bjd maker but I sculpt digitally and your videos inspire me. Keep up the great work!

This is awesome. I am 3D printing some digital sculpts of ball joint dolls from demonology. I have made molds of Batman cowls and stuff like that. I am hoping to be able to mold these. It seems rather complicated. I know I can... it is just nerve wracking right now having no idea what I am doing. Thanks for the reference!

I am very impressed with this work! Now, I have to do it. Like yes it is something I am going to do now. I will be watching these videos over and over and over, and it will help since I have a bit of mold making experience under my belt.

Hi, thank you! The casting process is not the easiest to do, it takes some time to catch up the details. It's important to try, analyse results and try more:) Good luck with your project!

@@katesamostudio I am impressed by your vent hole system and choice of materials. You were able to create very good molds with your current level of knowledge. I know lots of mold makers. So, I save thousands in materials and time. Hahahahahaha!

@@katesamostudio no one ever does things for me, but they give me needed advice. Approach in casting can differ from person to person. Keep doing awesome work.

As an arts student I am learning how to make a bust and cast a mold but I really wanted to make a doll as well, is there any chance for you to explain how I should mold each piece for assembly? 🥲🥲 your dolls are gorgeous ❤❤❤❤

Hi! Thank you:) it’s hard to show exactly how to place each detail, because it all depends on the angles and the nuances of the doll. Each doll is different, there’re just some common rules and recommendations for making the molds. I definitely will share more ‘secrets’ in the future videos)

Hello! I had a question about molds. I intend to use mine to mold air dry clay, so I won't need to pour resin or anything in it. I was wondering if you cut a one piece mold all the way down to bottom on one side, wouldn't it essentially perform like a 2 part mold?

Hi! I never did two-part mold this way, I assume if you will cut it with enough ‘roughness’ it could work.. If you will decide to try it, please write back, I am intrigued :)
