I would like more in-depth breakdowns on developing "Understanding Base, posture, connection, pressure" Thank you!!

This is the best bjj channel on youtube! Your explanations of details are diamonds! Please continue with these kind of videos in which you are teachning efficient jiu jitsu without flashy moves, concentrating on base, connection, posture, energy saving, with which big and strong people would struggle with small but technical people! I want to train as long as I can move, so I refuse to use "muscles" for doing jiu jitsu but it is very difficult to find people that share this point of view. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Hi Coach Matt, Thank you for the videos. They are very informative. I think what I'd like to see is more videos about fundamental balance/posture and how it applies to certain positions. It seems so easy to find videos or buy DVDs on how to do certain moves, but it's not so easy to find discussions about base, posture, and connection. Oftentimes I'll try techniques and realize that for some reason or another there just isn't enough power behind it, and often the reason is a lack of base, posture, or connection. I can watch videos until my eyes get red, but it's not the same as understanding the little details that make a position work. Thanks again!

Hi Matt. Really enjoying the SBG videos. Would you be able to show your fundamentals side control escapes in future videos especially for smaller players against bigger heavier opponents?

Hy Coach Matt. Your vids are gold and i had a lot of "eye opener" since following you and watching your vids. I was happy to learn some of the SBG stuff when Coach Tanswell (RIP) gave seminars in Germany years ago. More fundamentals please.....like posture, pressure, possibilities, like "airplane" in guard bottom, etc...

Loved the connection concepts in previous videos. I’d like to see some ideas working off your back against a larger opponent. Sweeps, reversals, safety. Really looking forward to this! 🤘🤙

I'd love to see some of Coach Matt Thornton rolling, and then him narrating said rolls. That would be awesome. Thanks, from PA. Love all your stuff.

Hi Matt, I really enjoy the content. A bit about me, I am actually black belt but/and decide to REALLY Learn BJJ as I understand that i am at the bottom of the black belt pyramid. Long story short I’m a top player and I am focusing right now on my closed guard. I have short stocky leg so find it difficult to lock the closed guard. Is there a specific leg you put over the over when you closed your guard or you don’t care/ Why?

Hi. I noticed when you had your student demonstrate the technique on you, and it was time for him to hook your foot with his foot, you consciously moved your foot out away from your butt where it was tucked so he could do that. It would not have been available to him otherwise. A lot of good jujitsu guys will tuck that foot, making it hard or impossible to get that hook. Is there a way to get around that?

Hello just a question: I m 35 years old male, overweight (not too much) ex smoker (quite up 2 months ago) could I train bjj and maybe reaching high result (if I train hard constantly and eating good?) Thx for your answer

Not muscles usually are the problem, is the brain so if you re smart you should be able.Usually dumb athletes have mediocre results because they can not generalize in these kind of sports.

Ex MMA as a sport It is like a video game you have stats that level up strength speed stamina so on(body) and tehnique( ground, standing,clinch,footwork....).The point is to train smart to make a good base and after level up each one individual.

So Far you have Trouble Shooted Everything ! There is a little problem to do triangle choke with those who posture in your close guard and you can't break the posture by Arm Drag ,much less Grabing the Neck ; Is there any solution to this ? Thanks.
