AI Video Summary, with time stamps. [00:02] Introduction to the class and the instructor's background in jujitsu and psychology [01:29] Teaching wrestling for adults is difficult and the instructor is sharing ideas from a six-class course to learn takedowns in the context of jiu-jitsu [02:46] Introduction to a simple game to teach stance and movement used in wrestling [04:40] The topic of the class is takedowns on legs, and the instructor emphasizes the importance of posture and body position [08:12] The importance of maintaining correct posture and feedback from training partners [09:24] The objective of takedowns is to move the training partner, and the instructor introduces the single leg takedown with two positions: head outside and head inside [11:35] Good wrestlers chain together several movements and never stop moving, emphasizing the importance of switching positions. [12:10] The instructor explains how to move towards the back and grab the hip with the shoulder to get the back. [12:57] He advises practicing quickly and trying out different positions for chain wrestling. [13:33] He explains how to move through the front and switch from double to single leg for specific situations. [14:31] The instructor demonstrates the full circle of one leg, two legs, head inside and outside positions while switching between the front and back directions. [15:25] He mentions that switching head positions can protect from chokes like guillotines. [16:05] The instructor advises trying to understand the different body positions and troubleshoot situations if necessary. [18:22] He emphasizes that the three elements of one leg, two legs, head inside, outside, and moving directions can be combined independently. [20:57] The instructor introduces three types of takedowns, starting with lifting, which develops strength and posture control. [23:11] He demonstrates the lift from different positions and advises trying to find a comfortable and measured slow lift. [25:55] The instructor mentions that finishes from the lift are easy once control is gained, and the direction of the landing can be on all fours or taking the back. [26:27] - The first drill is lift. The goal is to lift your opponent, and it teaches coordination and composure. Lift by starting from chain resting position and lifting while coordinating your movements. [27:08] - The second drill is block. The goal is to block your opponent's supporting leg while keeping one of their legs off the ground. The direction of the block is important to make sure you move in the right direction. You can use hand or foot blocks, but never kick the supporting leg. [30:07] - The third drill is back step or spoiler. The goal is to keep one of your legs off the ground while pulling your opponent towards you in a spiral motion. Maintain good body position and balance throughout the movement. [33:00] - The focus is on movement and improving body position in relation to your opponent. The takedown can be done in three modes: block, lift, or spiral. They can be combined for more options. [37:10] - There are numerous possible variations of takedowns when combining head positions, leg positions, and the three modes of takedowns. The speaker advises doing the drill and finding ways to improve.

I am curious about the head positioning still because you would have to move your head to the inside before they lock their hands together.
@JorgenMatsi
@JorgenMatsi 5 жыл бұрын
You mean for the guillotine defence? No, not really. If the hands are not yet locked it's easy to move towards the back as well. If they are locked and your posture is getting compromised you lower your stance to regain posture and shuck/turn to put your forehead into their armpit and then it pops to the front and no more guillotine.

Being taller one needs to wrestle alot in upper body working with snapdown as one of the main threats / first attacks. Also foot sweeps and trips.

@@lowaimnobrain anyone who is taller than their opponent has an easier time snapping their opponent down (compared to said opponent). Anyone who is shorter than their opponent has an easier time getting under their arms (and to hips and legs) (compared to said taller opponent). Still, unless the height discrepancy is huge, you need both threats viable :)

Very bad entry, thats easy to stop, and apply gilliotine. Only good tip he made here is at very end, the knee block
@JorgenMatsi
@JorgenMatsi 2 жыл бұрын
Did you even watch the video? It is not about "the" entry - it is just to get you started on being in on the hips. If head outside you defend via putting head on inside. Also, head inside positions are NOT safe from guillotines. What makes you safe from guillotines is timing, awareness and defence (as early as possible).
