2005 में जेडीयू ने भाजपा के साथ मिलकर 18 सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ा था, जिसमें से 6 सीटों पर जेडीयू ने जीत हासिल की थी। ये सीटें थीं - डाल्टनगंज, छतरपुर, तमाड़, मांडू, बाघमारा और देवघर। लेकिन बीच के वर्षों में जेडीयू का प्रभाव राज्य में कम हुआ और धीरे-धीरे यह पार्टी जीरो विधायक जीरो सांसद के आंकड़े पर पहुंच गई। इस बात से इनकार नहीं किया जा सकता कि अभी भी जदयू का वोटर वर्ग है, और इसी के आधार पर पार्टी 11 सीटों पर अपनी प्रभाव की बात कर रही है, जो कि काफी हद तक सही भी है।
इस लिहाज से सरयू राय के आ जाने से पार्टी और पर्सन दोनों को फायदा मिलेगा। एक तरफ जदयू को अपने पुराने वोटरों का साथ मिल सकेगा, जिसमें मुख्य रूप से कुड़मी समाज का कुछ हिस्सा आता है, इसके अलावा सरयू राय के कारण विशेषकर जमशेदपुर, धनबाद आदि क्षेत्रों में अपर कास्ट वोट भी जदयू की तरफ कुछ हद तक जाएगा। इन समीकरणों को ध्यान से देखने और पार्टी के संसाधनों को ध्यान से देखने के बाद इस बात से इनकार नहीं किया जा सकता कि जेडीयू झारखंड में दो-तीन सीटें जीतने की क्षमता रखती है।

But the issue is not getting stuck here. The issue is getting stuck as to how many seats JDU will get. Because there is already a tug of war going on between BJP and AJSU, Sudesh Mahato is constantly visiting Delhi. Last time AJSU was demanding 18 seats, BJP had agreed on 12, but in the end things did not work out and both the parties contested the elections separately. The result of this was that BJP and AJSU were out of power. According to a Hindustan report, there were 13 such seats in the state where the votes received by BJP and AJSU were more than the UPA alliance. If even 6 of these 13 seats had come in the NDA's account, the situation would have been different today.
Certainly, neither BJP nor AJSU will think of contesting the elections separately. Therefore, a middle path will be found out amid the tug of war. But with the entry of JDU this time, the embarrassment will increase and the seats will have to be distributed afresh. JDU has talked about its influence on 11 seats, which means it can demand 8-10 seats. Last time AJSU was on 18, this time they want more than 20. According to this, BJP will get 50 seats, while there is information from inside BJP that this time the party has decided that it will definitely contest elections on at least 67 seats. At least 67. That is, they are not going to come below 67.
