BJP/RSS are unable to comprehend the idea of Dharma as a common value. Dharma sans identity it is about noble values alone. Hindu, Sanatana, oldest religion, system of knowledge & wisdom, caste system etc are the adjectives and narratives used to describe the tradition. Tradition is not Dharma. Values make Dharma. Traditions are diverse and values are constant. Recognising tradition as Dharma is a fallacy surrounding the concept of Hinduism & Sanatana developed in certain geography i.e. Northern India. Hindutva is designed by RSS purely for political purpose to create an identy based on tradition and build a political support base under that identity. Hundutva was chosen and tailored to cover the largest portion of the population. Such an identity coming from one region is not going to be respected or accepted in other regions where traditions are sharply different despite Dharma being same. They reject Hindu, Sanatana, Hinditva from the point of being alien traditions. Worse; they are perceived as malicious North Indian scheme to subjugate local traditions. The arrogance, misbehavior, disinformation etc in display by the RSS/BJP are confirming the suspecion of the people and damaging the credibility. Modi- Shah combine has gone further by modeling politics and election as a Business of Power to Rule. BJP will always be viewed with suspecion. BJP will never win a seat in TN. I am a Bengali Hindu and all Bengali Hindus eat meat, with a small exceptions of Vaishnavs. If this makes us non-Hindu, too bad for BJP. Swami Vivekananda was non-veg, so was Bamkim who wrote Vande Mataram. Bengal had a strong Right wing movement, don't forget the term Hindutva was coined in Bengal.
