So when I downshift should I be downshifting at the same times the car does when it’s in automatic? Should I memorize at what speed and rpm the car downshifts? When I downshift it’s klunky and I don’t want to break my car😅
@koolaidjammer71082 ай бұрын
Yes to the first question, the cpu determines the optimal time to shift the smoothest in automatic mode. As for the second question you should focus mainly on rpms as that’s what the cpu uses to determine whether or not the transmission needs to shift or not.

I have a Acura MDX...a mom car bro💀. Paddle shifters are definitely mostly meant for sports cars. I think it takes a full 5.5 seconds to go from 0 to 60 without using the shifters... they make a difference but I'm pretty sure I'm not getting the full experience lol. No, the clutch is still automatic and should handle revmatching and properly disengaging/engaging gears. ergo, you can shift when you want to but the car won't let you shift up or down if you're out of range of whatever gear you're trying to go to. In my charger you dont even need to be in the manual mode to engage the paddles shifters. If you just need a burst of speed to get on a highway or interstate or to pass some one, I can just down shift via the paddles, then I can either hold one of the paddles to reingage automatic shifting or the car will put it back into auto after sustaining a gear for 5-10 seconds.
