They never really knew each other at all until right before Todd "dies" in Ireland. As soon as he comes back they begin to build a very strong sibling friendship.

When he came back, just in time to see "Blair" with "Patrick Thornhart" as they are about to have sex, he wound up hiding at "Llanfair" in the attic. When "Viki" brings him his breakfast tray and he (apparently) says that he's been awake most of the night, she tells him he needs to rest and he quips, _"Well, the undead don't need sleep..."_ VIKI: _"That's not funny. It's just not funny at-tall."_
