Dann habe ich noch ein paar Dahon FaltModelle in 20 Zoll. Speed, Mariner 8, Ein Mu usw.... Paar Standard Räder , Trekking und MTB. Ein Brompton Electric C Line kommt jetzt als nächstes rein. Brauche noch was Kleineres zum Falten :-) 😀

Absolutely beautiful collection. I would probably put them in the exact same order and I haven't even ridden them. Being born in '75 , the style of the bikes really resonates with me . Adventure riding is definitely the most fun type of riding. I usually roll out the garage, pick a direction and just ride! People would be so much happier if they spent a few hours a week on a bike. Thanks for sharing your awesome collection.

Love the Bob Jackson. I had mine built for me in 1998 because they were my local builders.8 countries and many thousands of miles, it’s sublime. The frames are all silver soldered, not brazed, and without a jig, because they don’t want to build stresses in by forcing it to stay in the jig. It’s just soldered up perfectly by hand so the tubes are relaxed. They are more special than most people realise, and the Heychins framrs of that era were all built by the same guys in the same way. It’s basically a non-curly Hetchins.

#10: 1978 I graduated HS and rediscovered my love of bicycles. Our LBS was a Raleigh dealer. Hal, the proprietor, gave me a catalog to look over before I chose. I wanted that Super Course because it had the 531 main tubes and alloy wheels but it was a little out of reach. I opted for the Super Grand Prix, a step below. It had straight gauge tubing, 700c alloy wheels with presta valves, which I thought were really neat. But the coolest feature was the Suntour barcon shifters. Raleighs of that era are so cool. I still would love to have a Raleigh International of that vintage. Added: I rode Merlin mountain bikes (1990, 1993, 1997) from 1990 to 2013 (in 2013 I got my custom Coconino). Loved my Merlins. I gave my last Merlin (1997) to a friend. It still lives a happy life on the Navajo Nation. BTW, you have a cool corral of bicycles.

Isn’t it crazy how the bikes that are the cheapest and most hastily tossed together always just seem to ride amazing? Kinda like your Bob Jackson. I have a GT that I rescued years ago that was in rough shape that I paid $50 for. I revived it using just random parts that I had laying around with the idea of creating a cheap street beater that I could ride around he city but if it got stolen I wouldn’t be super upset, but little did I know that I was creating my most Favorite and most Fun bike to ride ever! It feels like a big bmx bike that just Rolls for days. I absolutely Love it. It does Everything So Good and I would be devastated if anything happened to it. The welds are beginning to crack where the seat stays meet to post, but I keep my eye on it. You’ve got some Beautiful bikes. That blue Waterford is Gorgeous. I love those fenders.

If that GT is steel, you should take it to a framebuilder to have the cracks filled in with brazing to halt stop them from worsening.

10 sounds about right. My oldest is a 1974 Raleigh SuperCourse. But I bought mine new. It was a road bike/gravel bike I rode everywhere back when gravel was just a road they hadn’t paved yet and not a cool kids thing.

Bob Jackson were just up the road from me. Woodrups were another good frame builder nearby. Jackson were higher quality tho, won a LOT of races back in the day, competed in all the grand tours, world champs, Olympics, the lot. The shop was more like a garage than a showroom, they had this weird contraption they used for sizing you up for frames in the middle of the place & little product on display. Customer service was basic, they'd listen a few seconds, then tell you what you needed with zero BS or sales tactics. Just "this is the cheap option, this is the expensive one, take your pick & get out cos we got bikes to build" lol.

Had a Woodrup Adventure frame custom made by the shop just under three years ago. Rides like a dream with 853 tubing and without doubt the best bike for me. Bob Jackson custom frames have been revived by Tom who can be contacted via Woodrups shop in Leeds. 👍

When I worked at a shop and did all the racing stuff I had usually at least 12 different bikes in the garage. Anything from the fancy light weight road racer to a single speed rigid mtb. After I left the shop world I sold them all, and years later (about the time Covid hit) I built the bike I always wanted, a Surly Karate Monkey with all the fancy parts I could never afford back in the day. I know there are fancier frames, but it’s what I wanted and it’s bombproof. Love this bike.

My very first "new" bike was a Raleigh similar to yours except from around 1974ish. My Dad boight 2, one for my sister. Mine was stolen about 6 months later and I replaced it with a Gran Course (1 up) and put Phil Wood hubs on it. It broke at the drive side chainstay an the early 1980's. The upper end Carlton Raleighs woukd use 531C tubing and those were very light, under 20 lbs but we called them "one season" frames because they were relatively fragile. Interesting side note: The S.C. was Tom Ritchey's first bike. Same time period as mine but I'm several years younger, ; ) All great bikes!!!! Thanks!

Oh was cool seeing you had a Freestyle/ BMX bike in your top 10! Wow! Brought back many old memories in the 70's being a helper at Hillsons Bicycle Shop in Tewksbury Mass trying to work for my 1st new bike. I cannot even remember what brand it was but was that popular Forest green color that seemed like every bike company had. All these years later reliving my 29th or so childhood yet again and bought and fixed up a used BMX again. Who says you can't relive your youth! I love this video sooooo much! Huge BikeFarmer fan. Great wind down video after building up my fifth bike all day (halfway to 10!) My "bike to rule them all" is my Atlantis set up for anything that comes along. Rolled it up to Friendsgiving with my cast iron pot full of mussels and two saddlebags full of oil, wine, produce, beer earlier this week. oh mon, that RALIEGH! back in the late 70s, a friend gave me his early 70s Raleigh Pro Mk IV frame because it was too tall for him, and a perfect fit for me, so I moved all my Campi stuff off my 1975 Motobecane Grand Record, and it was the most awesome bike I ever owned. 2x5 speeds, campi sidepull brakes, campi superrecord crankset and derailleurs, with downtube friction shifters, Cinelli bars... I had a 54-42 front, and I used various rear freewheels, generally a 13-15-17-20-24. God, I loved that bike, then I was chasing a girl I wanted to date after work, and she braked abruptly and I tail ended her car and bent the forks and frame :( I think we had 1 or 2 dates after that and she decided I was too nerdy. It was a mink gold with silver-grey trim, not that different than yours

The last time I owned a road bike was 1991/92 when I was in college. I ran it into a telephone poll talking to a cheerleader at UW-Stevens Point. All I've owned ever since were mountain bikes. I am down to three right now. A Surly Fatbike with studded tires for winter time, a Gary Fisher Tassajara I turned into a single speed, and a Gary Fisher HKEK with a rigid fork

Yeeaahhh, the Waterford absolutely! I just got my first "fancybike," (not counting my ebike which is kinda fancy I guess), and it is pretty much the same style down to the hammered fenders and the Herse tires (with Herse TPU tubes). Custom built for me! Which is nice b/c I'm 6'4" / 193cm in bare feet, and it's bloody hard to find frames that fit. You're lucky you're normal-sized lol. I freakin' love it.

I love your bikes. I am down to 4 bikes. 1 1958 Raleigh grand lenton(with the suicide shifter ) and its gold , 2 A surly LHT with fat tires and nitto bars, crane bell , 3 tern node 24in folder with a swytch ebike kit 4. Ohm discover e assist bike from Canada. (After the heart attack and back surgery the ebike is ridden most ). I love your green Rivendell! All my bikes have brooks saddles. The 1958 is original. I bought it from a guy that had a museum of a bike shop in bisbee Arizona. It a work of art. All stickers still in tact an Arizona bike from England.

WTB SST 98 saddle, Mavic Cosmic Elite wheelset, bike weighs 21lbs 14oz with Schwalbe Pro One 700x23c tires ‘11 Cannondale Synapse with Shimano 105 (5603) 3x10 cranks, brakes, front derailleur, and shifters plus XTR M971 derailleur and 11-36 XT cassette. Brooks B17 saddle, Mavic Aksium Race wheelset, weighs 20lbs 15oz with Schwalbe Pro One 700x28c tires ‘12 Motobecane Strada LTD “gravel” bike. Great to see ypur fleet described in detail. I find it interesting they are all sorta similar in usage, road and trekking biased. My own fleet has massive variation in style and usage. Commuter flat bar roadie, fixed gear, 1x hardtail MTB for pub runs, trail dually, vintage MTBs. Always had a preference for MTB riding, just find it fun. Maybe a gravel bike is missing from the list. Road biased bikes are for business - getting there faster.

I have a Black Mountain v2 Road Bike with 2x11 Ultegra. It is such a great bike and pretty much embodies the Socratic version of what a bike should be. Those Honjo's are beautiful with the light stand-offs on the rear fender.

I understand your fondness for big tires. I have fairly inexpensive Conti RIDE City tires on a '93 Trek 950 lugged MTB drop-bar commuter. They are only 60psi but, as heavy as the bike is, it just rolls so well.

These bikes are similar to the ones at the bike museum in New Bremen Ohio in your travels Andy you should go sometime I know you would enjoy it. Lots of bikes made by Schwinn Huffy Cannondale Harley Davidson. And bikes made in Europe 1700’s 1800’s bikes made from Dayton Ohio when Dayton was a power house of bike building. One from Wilbour and Orville Wright.

I feel like you would also like the 70’s or early 80’s takara road bikes. I picked up a 79 a while back and the craftsmanship for the age is beautiful

On that rear coaster on the Raleigh put the tab holes on the chainstay on the same side of the brake arm. Will close that loop tighter around chainstay and look cleaner.

The pedals on the All Rounder. Called Grip Kings were designed by Grant P and built by MKS. I have the Lambda version on my Bike Friday.

Sad that Waterford is no more. I feel fortunate to have a Boulder Bicycle “all road” that was built by Waterford. It has the skinny light tubing and has a fantastic ride quality. With full Honjo fenders, a nitto front rack, Son front & White industries T11 hubs with Edelux front and Compass tail lights it weighs 25lb and it feels like 20 🏁.
