I would not call them freelancers in preferrence of free criminals. My hotel was jellyfish a few years ago. It is located a 2 min walk from beach road near the hangout jomtien sit down area up to jomtien soi 4. The soi's all in this area are closed off by a wall blocking access to 2nd road. The soi's all are chock full of local drug dealers,strong arm robbers, assault artists ,snatch and grab etc etc day and night. It was common during my week stay men being mugged by the drug dealers or ladyboys in disguise. Near all massage shops there are all ladyboys too. Most of the freelancers are ladyboys especially if dressed well lean and tall. beware
