@SophieJuanKido-ml3 жыл бұрын

It's based on one Directors experiences within the industry and the things he was privy to, etc etc. He's no longer working for that particular company anymore so is able to speak about some of the stuff that has gone on. If you do a search you'll find out what series he worked on and with what agencies etc.

When P'Aof said "Some people think that Y series only fulfill the fantasy of a small group of Y female fans only; When saying 'only', I think it isn't true. I think when people are still interested in the series, BL series will survive because it's a love story." - he really _meant_ it. Knowing that this is his perspective towards Y series, it's no wonder that he was the director of BL series like He's Coming To Me and A Tale of Thousand Stars; Two Y series that I consider the game changers of this genre. You'll know how serious he takes his Y series if you've watched some or all of his works because even without failing to present most things fans want to see in a Y series (like cheesy, dreamlike dialogues or scenes), he always make sure to make the characters' love story meaningful as well which makes the audience hooked and _attached_ to the characters and the story. Though Y Series are mostly viewed as a way to feed the fans' fantasies only, I'm glad that these days I can see it evolving and having more depth.

This is what we need though - more writers and directors like him who are actually part of the LGBTQ community, telling these stories. I think that's why Bad Buddy stood out above and beyond the rest for its realism, healthy and strong relationship.

What a really insightful documentary. I'm a new audience of Y series (started just this pandemic around June this year) and I've always had an impression that Thailand fully embraces the LGBTQ+ community given how many Y series have been produced over the years but this documentary proved me wrong. I agree that BL series might not be as popular as it is today if the love between a man and a man or a woman and a woman are considered normal like heterosexual relationships are. It's also true that Y series is the "perfect" representation of a same-sex relationship because even up until this day, many people still don't accept this kind of relationship which made it hard for our LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters to come out and be proud of who they are. In a way, I'm thankful that these 'fantasies' are showed to the world to deem that this kind of love exists and IS rightfully allowed to exist. With more and more BL series coming out this year, I'm glad that this genre is evolving continuously and having more depth than before. Y series has been boxed by the thought of "only" fanservice over the years but the genre can be more than that and you can take ITSAY and ATOTS as a proof for that. I also like the fact they actually interviewed a BL on-screen couple for this too, Bright and Win, and made them share their insights acting in a Y series. If only everyone understand that they are actors and not the characters they act as, BL industry will not be as toxic as it is. This is something I wish can be fixed over time along with the romanticization of red flags like sexual harassments and manipulation in Y series. Overall, Y series indeed have good and bad points in it but I'm glad that it exists to serve its purpose.

This conversation needs to happen 99.9% of fans know its fiction and love the actors and at no point do we want them hurt in any way. As a community we hate the 'rape storylines with no actions after. People need to realise its their lifes. These are mostly wonderful stories and why we love them. The 'me too' movement in Hollywood took too long to come to the surface and we don't want that for others around the world no matter what gender. This documentary could be a very interesting longer series. Loved it and thanks for.sharing and speaking up. Needs to watched by millions. 💜

The truth requires more documentaries like that, that they tell the truth about many things, and that they put issues about toxic fans
@adeleennis22553 жыл бұрын
Toxic fans are horrible. How can you call yourself a fan and then get angry at an actor when their real life is not the same as their series/movie life? Their job is to ACT, not live the life of the series or movies they’re in for longer than it takes to film the series or movie. We all like to ship our favorite couples, but to truly support them we have to love their real selves too, not just the made up character. It was ridiculous the amount of shade that was thrown when Max of MaxTul announced he and Mook were dating. If you’re truly a fan, shouldn’t you be happy that Max is happy? Also, if we find out one of our faves has been harassed or abused, isn’t it incumbent upon us fans to show them as much love as possible? Like Aam said, if they are social media popular, they are more like to get cast because their advertised merch will sell.

I agree. I wish a separate documentary about toxic fandoms within BL industry and their practices will be created some day as well. It will be interesting to watch it in depth.

They aren't so much romanticizing harassment but the nature in which some relationships present their love as its not only bl series/movies but all series/movies play a part in this not all. So people shouldn't just put bl in this box but all.

It is not true that love between same sex couples newer have a happy ending. In my closest circle of friends and family, there are several same sex relationship that has been together longer than the conventional couples. I think BL, yaoi and lgbt series and movies with happy endings is a positive thing, it makes a positive outlook on the relationship between same sex couples, they can make it. But only if they don’t feel like outcast everywhere, and they have the support from friends and family. There is nothing wrong with their sexuality, they are born with it and can’t just make it go away, if they don’t have the support for their family.

From a western point of view, this was over obvious however good that somebody from Asia it's speaking up, too many people believe what should not be believed particularly Philippinos and Thai. BL Thai industry is over-controlled and reality and fantasy are always two separate worlds. People wish to believe what should not be perceived as a reality Good that this came from an Asian it gives more consitency

One word to describe the “BL industry,” because that’s what it has become, is MONEY 💴! The rate now at which companies are popping up to produce BL stories, the diversification into other areas (cafes, clothing shops, food shops, etc.) by those companies using the BL fan base as their new customers. The overworked and over scheduled actors working under shady “Korean pop star-esque slave contracts.” Once you see the true underbelly of the beast, true fans are left in a conundrum; do I continue in order to support the actors or do I pull away so that hopefully the industry sees that change needs to be made. The industry is betting and hoping fans go with the first because it allows the status quo to continue. As I become more informed, I’m leaning toward the second option realizing this industry’s primary market was always intended to be overzealous, easily manipulated, consumer driven fans with disposable income and available free time. There’s this saying, “when you know better, do better.” I think 🤔 in this case it applies to the industry executives as well as the fans, or their money, who ultimately are the driving force behind many decisions.

It's fine if the series goes well with what matters, but I just want to say that love is love no matter what gender you are or what color you have because anyway we are all human that we need true love and I love that although everything is acted 29% of love is felt between the characters (actors)

Also make clip of toxic fans issue . Most actors don't come back reason they suffer so much from hate when they do something they like and not what people want to see . They are not welcomed by fans when they work with someone else , they are always expected to be with partner they like , they are bullied for having girlfriends even family are harrased, also there other works are not appreciated unless it's bl people sends hate to their coworkers too and specially actors who are really passionate about acting are not appreciated i am not surprised they don't want to do bl after that , like you work so hard but you are just loved because of couple not because of your acting . Also like lately I always see people categorising actors who speak up against LGBT rights . People are like only this actor support because they update others don't . .. where is right of freedom for celebrity ? Who are we to tell and categorise them. These days most celebrity use LGBT topic as attraction. There are many actors who never spoke up for lgbt but once they do bl they start acting like they support lgbt and everything related to it. They are actors it's thier profession .if they support good don't force them or call them toxic because they don't show us they support it who knows they do it without us knowing

around minute 4:00 why is she saying that? huh? seems like she dont know any gay couple in real life? - because it is NOT true that in RL these "same gender"-couples wont ever find a happy ending...!!! i know gay couples in RL, and 2 of these i know, they even living for long years a life and love together, so why she is saying its only like dreaming or fantasy + fiction and no happy ending at all but only a fantasy which ppl like to see because real life dont give such? lol excuse me? but that lady is totally wrong with her words. of Course (!) such lifes and loves and ppl exist in RL!!! :) and it works, it happens!!! sure, of course, also where i live - of couuuurse there must be always some partypooper who hate or dont accept 2020 but still kinda live like 300.000 yrs ago + under a rock as a kind of homosapiens .. (wahts also sad - but true too lol) the more if you just know that the words "homo sapiens" translated also mean "the modern human" lol modern ? well, well... :) anyway :) i just wanted say im not agreeing with the ladies meaning bocs sure gay couples exist in RL and even with happy ending! :)

LAS COSAS COMO SON LA MAYORÍA DE LOS ACTORES BL SON HETEROSEXUALES Y MUCHOS DE ELLOS HASTA NOVIAS TIENEN EN EL MOMENTO EN QUE SUS SERIES ESTÁN EN EMISIÓN Y MUCHOS NO LO DICEN PORQUE NO QUIEREN, PORQUE LE DICEN QUE NO LO DIGAN PORQUE ASÍ NO MATARÍA SU SHIPP QUE TIENEN, Y SABEMOS TODOS QUE ESTOS ACTORES SIMPLEMENTE HACEN SU TRABAJA Y HACEN MEJOR QUE NADIE LO QUE MEJOR SABEN HACER QUE ES HACER FANSERVICE Y MARKETING QUE EN ESO EN TAILANDIA PRINCIPALMENTE SON PIONEROS ASÍ QUE POR FAVOR CONCIENCIA A LA HORA DE VER SERIES BL A MI ME GUSTAN VERLAS, AMO VERLAS PERO TENGO MUY CLARO QUE LAS PAREJAS O LAS SHIPP SON TOTALMENTE FALSAS , SI ASÍ MISMO ES LAS PAREJAS BL QUE USTED VE DICIÉNDOSE COSAS CARIÑOSAS QUE SI UNO ES LA ESPOSA DEL OTRO, QUE SI SE QUIEREN, QUE LA MIRADA, QUE LOS ABRAZOS, QUE LOS BESOS EN EL AIRE TODO ESO ES FANSERVICE Y NO QUIERE DECIR QUE LOS ACTORES NO SE QUIERAN O NO TENGAN CONFIANZA PARA HACER ALGO DE ESO, LO QUE NO SE PUEDE DECIR ES QUE ESTAS PAREJAS SON REALES, PORQUE LA REALIDAD ES QUE NO LO SON.

RE Present Still Perfect - to ALL planning on watching it there - find a better source!! You must understand that what Viki/Rakuten shows is a disappointingly edited version' especially in the beginning and even colors look muted (it feels like a bootleg 😶). Based on my owned (then 'just-released' version that left me as giddy as the audience interviews in the premier lobby), it's NOT edited for content but time limitations. Oat's wife's part is an afterthought, T's cleaned-up appearance barely mentioned by PP landlady/friend is meankngless and removes T's visual 'state of mind endless loop' existence throughout the guys' years apart, even gives the wrong impression of what transpired (or, actually, didn't in,the 3 years since they parted!) and takes a lot of humor out of e-mail misfire. 😳👎. It REALLY upset me - a mid-50's hetero female with many gay friends [who's not, nir a fan of fetishizing fangirls of BL the genre in general]. I bsolutely LOVED the full/real version of PSP. Edits for ViKi feel like a closed-door meeting negitiated 'comoromise' and removed an important piece of the stiry/character misaic and changed/turned down the 'brightness' of the second movie, some delightful humor elevated by initial tension/angst of the first 10-15 missing minutes and, thus, its NECESSARY stark contrast to Part [PP]. I'd like to ask director - was it really worth it, beyond added viewership and, naturally, licensing revenue? From artistic standpoint? IMHO WONDERFUL actors, O&T and the audience deserved better. I'm just one viewer, SO WHAT DO I know? Well, I rented twice and bought the full version to support the project on the release night and encouraged everyone to watch it. After hearing a 'it was good, but you raved?!' comment from a Viki viewer, checked it out and understood its tepid rating and gave it a VIKI 8 because I already saw the 11/10. He watched my owned film and agreed. Final thought? Who ever wrote Viki plot summary (get rid of that intern!) and his colleague who edited deserve a flogging. 🤦♀️🤔?! [I used example of 'The Pornographer' (or whatever other name's used) and 'Mood Indigo' as an example - two movies have a similar tone/color and prequel has continuity/feel. It should be/was opposite by design for PP and PSP, but it's lost - not entirely but just ennugh to drop at least a notch if not more if go with Viki. Spend a little more and get the precious full version.

To be honest I think the gay people interviewed in this video are quite traumatised and for that I am very sorry. Actually one of the things I would love to see are interviews with actual BL actors who are gay and how they feel in film sets, fanmeetings, concerts etc. I feel worried about their mental health among so many straight men joking and faking. I would like to know how they set healthy boundaries.
