@Beastbombshell Actually, things went terribly wrong in my relationship. So wrong, I won’t air it all here, I hope that you’ll trust me on it tho. After it ended I went thru all the emotions. I hated him, we were friends... I was jealous ... all of it. Then, he met her!!! I hated her!!! We fought. Physically. I had a son, so I knew it all had to end. The stress was killing me... killing us all. Make a long story short, her and I are so close. They drove 7 hours to see my new son be born. We just had another family outing. I never wanted my son to feel like he had to choose. The more people who can love our children the better. At the end of the day, people give us weird looks when they find out how we know one another. I’m re married to the man of my dreams and were often out together.... it can happen. It can work!! It takes time ... that’s all. ☺️

I know this is about the project but I just love seeing this! I didn't know my step father wasnt my biological father until I was about 10/12 years old. I was never treated differently from his biological children and even his siblings, mom/father never treated me any different. The ex wife had always treated me and my siblings with love and always so excited to have all of us around (including my mother) with their kids. I can remember my mom visiting the ex wife and her family many times with and without my dad and all the kids hanging out. I never grew up knowing "baby mama" or "ex wife drama" until now that I have a family of my own. My father has been deceased for many years and my mom and all the siblings still call, invite to different functions, and check on each other. This is 45+ years later.

You should paint the outlet cover too. My bedroom is a similar color and the off white plugs were a big distraction. We spray painted them a darker black than the wall and they look really nice now and intentional. Great DIY video!

It's an interesting concept, and it gives the wall dimension and texture, but I see a lot of nooks and crannies that would become dust collectors, and thus I see a high maintenance wall. A similar look could be achieved by using different types of paint in the same color but different finishes gloss stripes over satin, for example. Flat might be better for the base, but it doesn't clean up as easily. Using paint to give the wall dimension would have allowed for easy cleaning with a Swiffer dry cloth. Done the way it was, the wall is an impressive statement wall though, and it gave you a chance to show off your mad carpentry skills! 😉😁

Only painting wouldn’t be as classy. Paneling the walls make a great statement and it’s quite chic. Things that imitate others are tacky and tasteless like flooring imitating stones, wall paper imitating a bookshelf, fake flowers etc. Dimension is an important asset so it is having the “real deal”. My house here in Europe has panels in all rooms (originals, from hundreds of years) and it almost gets no dust at all. It depends of where do you live, climate and how well sealed is your house. But generally people will nice houses have a house cleaner once in a while and it will be enough for keeping it top. I actually never ever think about how hard it is to be cleaned when I buy or do something in a house. Hire a clean lady from time to time and fully enjoy the house every day. :)

I think it is a good idea to consider the costs associated with any decision whether it's going to be a long term time or money investment to maintain it. If it's worth whatever time and effort will go into upkeep, it makes sense. Some people wouldn't want the extra hassle and don't hire cleaning services: All personal preferences. I think the ladies did a nice job and accomplished what they set out to do creating an impressive statement wall with dimension. Kudos to them for that.

@@silentgrind34 Hi, I'll post a link to a blog post that has a picture of a hallway where the top half of the wall was painted in a Moroccan tile stencil design in black paint, and that was where I got the idea that a similar look could have been achieved using different types of paint. I personally love the look of the hallway I'm describing from the blog post. Like I said, the main advantage is day-to-day cleanup: For a flat wall, you don't have all of the ledges, nooks, and crannies to become dust collectors, and you can get a Swiffer dry floor sheet, and quickly run it over the walls for a quick dust cleanup. I do that with walls before I paint too. Anyway, my suggestion wasn't intended to take anything away from the wall the ladies completed in the video. I just wouldn't want the cleaning commitment, and I like to be able to change things up more easily than that type of project would allow if I got tired of it.
