I think the double cream pups tie it together with the binding. Like the lawsuit guitars that had double white bobbins on their black lp clones in the 70s. It’s a classic look, but zebra, double black, or just about any color pickup even nickel covered would look good on flat black. I could even see hot pink, neon green or even yellow bobbins looking great on it . I’m glad I ain’t the only one who has to use some finger ease or fast fret. I actually prefer fast fret. I bet I could knock it outta tune, but it’s got a good straight string pull so with the nut cleaned or replaced with a graph tech as long as the tuners hold it should be pretty solid. I think if all these budget brands would just go ahead and install graph tech nuts from the factory most people would be happy to pay an extra 15 to 20 dollars for a good nut out of the gate. The fretwork and the nut are usually the areas that are suspect on affordable guitars with fretwork getting much better, you can expect a guitar of any price point to be at least playable with minimal set up out of the box. Sure you might not be able to get the action as low as you’d like it but for the most part you should be getting level crowned frets at any price point. Fret sprout is going to be an ongoing issue with the demand for new guitars making it impossible to dry the wood out before installing the frets, but it’s pretty simple to fix.

It's called Finger Ease..it reduces string noise and makes the Strings slick so you can slide all over the neck with ease..Great stuff

I have the purple Monsoon, I was want to replace the nut, string saddles and tuners too, what do u recommend? I was thinking of the Planter waves locking tuners, graph tech nut and graph tech string savers saddles.

I have used the D'addario Locking tuners they were pretty good..the graph tech nuts are great..as far as saddles haven't really messed around much with those

Good to know they double box, in my experience UPS , USPS and Fed Ex tend to handle packages as anything BUT _Fragile_ so quality packaging is always an extra added plus

Good video. My screw was exactly like yours. Lose and not screwed all the way down on my Ocean Blue Monsoon. I think your black would have looked better with the zebra pickups. I really mine. How do you compare this with the new Fesley?

They are both Great Guitar Companies..but right now for the value would be with Fesley..you get a Gigbag, strap, tuner, picks and polishing cloth for the same price..and if Fesley still has the Coupon you would get $50 off..but as far as Quality they are very comparable..its all in what you like I guess

They are both Great..this one is nice with the hardtail Bridge..less chance of it going out of tune like the Fesley with the tremolo Bridge..it doesn't fall out of tune very easily but there is always that chance when using the the whammy bar for sure If I was going to play out I would probably upgrade to at least Locking tuners

Both are very Comparable to each other honestly... At the moment with a the $50 coupon that Fesley offers It's a little better of a deal because you get more for less 💰💰..I like the Leo a slight bit better because of the hardtail bridge and the neck shape feels a slight bit better to me imo..but kinda splitting hairs with the neck 😎

If you have bipolar weather like here in Ohio guitars are hard to to stay in tune especially after a string change..there has been times before its taken me sometimes up to 3 days of playing, stretching strings and retuning and finally it it will settle in with a new set..thats actually happened on a couple of my more expensive guitars..Hopefully that's all it is..Ohio suck for wood instruments Also it comes with 10/46 gauge strings..if you go lighter may cause some tuning stability

Do I see a scarf joint cause I think I see a scarf joint yup I definitely see a scarf joint ,so that is the sign of a garbage guitar , when the wood shrinks and expands in two different directions the fret board warps out , don’t buy a guitar with a scarf joint kids , you won’t find a scarf joint on a good guitar even the lowest end fender strat doesn’t have a scarf joint neck , this is a nonstarter for me.

🤣🤣 I have Guitars that have scarf joints from over a Decade absolutely no issues to this day..both inexpensive and expensive..scarf joint was designed to create a stronger headstock in case of a drop..so they really aren't that uncommon..this scarf joint is slightly lower than it should be I agree with that..but when done correctly and moved higher up its absolutely fine..🍻
