Excellent reaction and I'm so pleased you actually (and immediately) understood the context and meaning of the line so many people (mostly American for some reason) get hung up on ... it is the sort of innocent thing very young children who don't really understand the concept of marriage say to older relatives they love and admire. When it is heartfelt it really is one of the most flattering things someone can hear. I'm sure I recall one of my brother's kids saying it to my own parents many years ago.

it's a sentiment that was much more common in the west back when it was socially acceptable for little girls to dream of getting married. now, they're expected to have career dreams instead, so hearing little girls talk about marriage strikes a lot of people as weird and they go weird places with it.

Maybe I’m just at that cusp where it wasn’t a crude or perverse notion? I remember when I was really young my dad had a friend who I guess I always used to say I was going to marry or something. I was like 4 or 5 and everyone just thought “awww adorable, isn’t that sweet?” (I’m queer now so this even funnier looking back hahaha) I get both sides, on one hand it feels weird to think of children and marriage in the same thought, but on another, kids dream at whatever age of whatever appeals to them. It’s not like kids see marriage with all its aspects and think I want that. They see cute scenes in movies and snip shots of happiness in real life. I think it’s a little weirder that we (mostly the US in my experience) perverse or try to see the sentiment from an adult perspective when it’s from a kid.

Great reaction, and props for understanding the lyrics and especially the "I'll be your bride" reference, most people just go the weird route with it. BBM were always supposed to be a contrast to the normal Babymetal songs because the lore was that they were corrupted by the big Idol groups to reject metal music, and in the early concerts had to be saved by Su-metal. In the Legend 1999 concert after Yui and Moa finished this song they were frozen in place by the evil idols and when Su appeared on stage to begin the song No Rain No Rainbow, usually a solo song for Su, she unfroze Moa and Yui and they stayed on stage while Su performed. At the end of the song they flapped their little arms like birds and "flew" over to a piano that was on stage and pretended to play the outro to the song. It's so damn cute that I actually have tears in my eyes just thinking about it. The performance itself is a little lackluster due to terrible audio mixing with the live band, but it's worth it just for that moment at the end.

Yui and Moa sing about girls using their kawaii to get money and gifts out of their fathers while they, and BM in general, do exactly the same to their fans, many of whom are middle aged guys. It's sort of perverse. I like the "money, money, money" part which is explicitly avaricious and reminds me of the song from Cabaret. FYI I'm a middle aged guy and bought the DVD of the Budokan shows, so job done Yui and Moa.

But when you take the rest of the lyrics, their choreo and the fact that I don't think, Koba could ever be persuaded to include anything even remotely pedo (he has daughters around the same age as Su, Moa and Yui) it's easy to see, that this is just a bit mischievous, so they can get what they want. ☺️😂 I have seen some reactors get stuck on that line, but thankfully (as I guessed) you saw it for what it is. 😊

Great reaction! Your pronounciation is pretty good but the "u" is silent in Daisakusen. Afaik, there is only an audio recording of the OD performance where Su joined in to sing her part. No video unfortunately. Moa and Yui did OD at the Tokyo Dome in 2016 for the last time. But they actually brought it back at this years Budokan show. Moa performed it on her own with four tiny Sisterbones. We only have fancams yet so we have to wait for the bluray release to see it in its full glory. 🤩

Hi girl, thanks for keep coming back with more BM songs. If _Rondo Of Nightmare_ is my favorite SuMetal solo, this BBM song is my favorite, is just ultra mecha kawaii UwU This song give us the early nu-metal vibe mixing with some rap, and as a bonus you can hear the famous Fred Durst shout from Limp Bizkit, of course this is more meaningful if you used to hear them back those days. Many years have been passed since they played this song live because Yui wasn't there of course, but recently at 10 Years Doomsday Budokan concert Day 6th MoaMetal did performed this song surrounded with 4 little girls many called *"baby-dancers"* (they're not sister-bones) to match up a little bit with the song (because we all know, she's not a little girl anymore) but this song is fun and everyone enjoyed, apparently someone spotted 3 of those girls are current member of Sakura Gakuin, and the other one came from ASH, same place SuMetal and Riho Sayashi (avenger) came from. One more thing i find out, there's a "SuMetal in the house" version of this song, don't know where was that but judging for the fancam pretty sure it was outside from Japan (USA or UK maybe) As you might notice there's SuMetal backingtrack vocals, and during this special version SuMetal does the actual backtrack voices and singing live, sound is not so good and cam is very far away from stage to watch the girls but is watchable for me, watch it in your spare time if you want ;) See you next time! \m/ _LIVINGLEGEND_ _NOTACULT_ _OTFGK_ _10BABYMETALYEARS_

💀 💕 / 💸 💸 I agree. The lyrics really have to be interpreted through the lens of a little kid. I've always thought of it more like "When I grow up, I want to marry someone like you." BTW, that's Su on the backing track. This song could even be described as "Onedari Daisakusen - FEAT. Su-metal". : ) 'Legend 1997' was in 2013. I don't believe any footage ever surfaced of Su joining Yui and Moa on stage for this song on her 2014 birthday. There is an audio track of that floating around though. For some reason, it's sometimes combined with footage from a different show that doesn't have Su on stage. They brought 'Onedari Daisakusen' back for the fifth and sixth shows Budokan concerts in 2021. The choreography was updated so that Moametal could instruct four young supporting dancers on how to sweet talk their dads into giving them stuff. : ) I thought that was a great way to handle a song that Moa has otherwise grown out of performing.

One of the things - probably the biggest - that I wish I had the experience of is having a daughter to melt my heart including in this manner. We only had a son (he's now 25) - a whole different dynamic and a fantastic one. These Black Babymetal songs (and some of the Sakura Gakuin ones) are as vicariously close as I will get. Just pure fun and emotion. Glad that you felt the connection from the young girls' side. Made me smile :)

In this context it's used as a form of extreme flattery and it can be seen as a manifestation of the Electra complex. Actually, it's a expression used by little girls (3-6 years). I suggest to watch professor Hartley's video about this song. So the meaning of the song is pretty clear: just Yui and Moa begging their dads to buy them nice and shinny things using any means necessary. Conclusion: kawaii overload! Until next time!

Tip: Du-metal actually has the translated prologs on his blog Happy Budo Man is some kind of Japanese pun on the famous Budokan venue. :-) And Su-metal on the background vocals. 7:51 my thinking has always been: Babymetal girls have a 'tour dad' and 'tour mom' when they are on tour. Kobametal is actually the 'tour dad'. So is the song about getting more money from Kobametal ? ;-) Was the song inspired by the contract negations maybe ? 11:32 agreed, it's something very young little girls say who don't know what marriage means and makes dads proud. It's also a song Babymetal never performed again in that form after 2016 when they got older. The song is inspired by nu-metal band Limp Bizkit and even has a sample of Fred Durst from the song My Generation. 16:15 No video exists from the performance with Su-metal, but an fan made audio recording exists of that one time event I could be wrong, but I think the u might be silent in Onedari Daisakusen. 4:17 The onion is because there's a golden onion at the top of the Budokan and the grapes are a pun on the name ("grape" in Japanese is "budo"). If you haven't learned by now, this band loves puns.

In case you didn't know, that WAS Su doing the background rap in this song. So, BMC was not her first taste of it. As someonealready pointed out, the U is silent in daisakusen. In the first line they say "Sakusen 1" or "tactic 1" so you can hear the pronunciation. :)

Great Reaction! I laughed the most in your video so far. As you probably already know, BLACKBABYMETAL has all 4 songs. According to MOA's words, BLACKBABYMETAL's mission is to rehabilitate the world (In other words, corrects social injustice / improve the world). And I interpret that reading the lyrics of those four songs all contributes (or is trying to) to the world, and so does this song. Aside from the dumetal site's consideration, my thoughts are simply a song about a bad plot in which her daughter is amiable to her father and trying to withdraw money. However, YUI and MOA REVEALED all of these sly girls' OPERATION in the song. In short, I think they are warning their fathers (men) about it. In the song, YUI and MOA , like an actress , played "a situation when her daughter asks her father for money". At the end of the song, YUI and MOA look like this. "I warned you! The rest is your own problem!" I think most fathers are happy to buy something for their daughter to express their affection , even if they know their intrigue... Men are happy to be relied on by girls, even ostensibly lol... BLACKBABYMETAL contributed to the rehabilitate the world by this song with humor. By the way, at live performances overseas such as Mexico, I have seen a video of a large number of bills being thrown into the air during a performance of ONEDARI DAISAKUSEN. It was very chaotic and made me laugh. It seems that a large number of BABYMETAL banknotes were printed as a wad of toys. You can find it on KZbin as a Fancam video.

Great reaction! You've now heard the best Fred Durst song (the "HWAAA!" shout in the middle of the song is a sample of his voice) This is my favourite BBM song. I don't know how they manage to be so cute and also cool at the same time? The main riff is so damn good. I really regret that I didn't know Babymetal when they visited my hometown back in 2015.
