And the Jeepers pee their pants driving this road. The real hero is the heavy equipment driver! 💪

Considering the amount of people that die on that trail each year I'd say almost every driver pisses their pants driving it. It's a fucking long way down if you get it wrong.

My oldest Son chose this trail for his first ever trail experience in his new jeep. He had no problem.
@poco11745 жыл бұрын
Easy to say from your couch. You won’t be taking your Prius there. I could well have spelled Prius wrong. Never been near one. Please don’t imply your son did this on his own. Someone with experience held his hand every foot of the way. I’ve taken over 20 on their “first” trip and none of them had any trouble.

Back in 03, I was lucky enough to be the first person up Black Bear from the 550 side. It was only open from 550 up to the pass, the other side down was still too deep with snow. I actually was following the bulldozer up the pass to the top, he said nobody else had been up it that season yet. Then he hopped out and got in his truck and basically baja'd up the pass and passed me, he was a crazy old kook :D

Thanks for this video! It adds to the already great evidence I stumbled across earlier… those of you who are familiar with this trails’ infamous reputation probably have seen the very scary Jeep video where a gal & her two pups rolled off the pass a couple of years ago, leaving the 22 year-old gal paralyzed (thankfully recovering). After seeing it, I decided my life is exciting enough so I won’t be taking my new Jeep to out Colorado this summer until I know WTH I’m doing. Sure, I’ve 4-wheeled in mud & rock in S. Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Arkansas, etc … but that mountain pass looks very (technically) difficult to try without local help & “some” (ha ha) mountain 4-wheeling experience. I’ve got zip.

He's on the road and it looks like soil judging by the berm he's got built up in front of the blade. So he's not on a side hill, nor solid rock. He should have taken his foot off the deccelerator, shoved that berm further forward and knocked that thing out of the way in about 30 seconds. I spent 30 years building logging roads and skid trails and there are definitely places to idle and pick your way through. That didn't look like one of them.

because a drill on something this size is overkill, use a rockhammer on an excavator at the most, but that is still to dangerous on this kind of a mountain, best to just push it off.
