SHE CAN MAKE A SONG ABOUT CLEANING A DIRTY ASS TOILET AND IT WILL SOUND BEAUTIFUL. I LOVE ALLLL HER DEPRESSING ASS SONGS. LOL. IDK WHY BUT ME AND LANA JUST GET EACHOTHER.
Exactly that’s why I’m listening to this song now cause the person I’m dating keeps killing my joy and happines with their negativity and constant bad mood I try everything to cheer them up but I just end up crying cause everything that I find exciting they start questioning it and making it seem stupid and un important

The way she utilizes her voice when she sings “oh, what can I do?” and then “life is beautiful, but you don’t have a clue” is so powerful because she is telling a story. She begs her loved one to see the world as she sees it, but they just cannot for some reason. In the end, she completely converts herself for that person, and yet it was for nothing because they never got that “magnificence” she saw in the world. So many songs in todays era do not tell a story, they are just filled with aggression and demanding comments about women. Lana is a storyteller and this song emphasizes her talented ability.

I don't know if my comment will mean anything. When I heard the story behind "Black Beauty", the dark chapter of Lana and Barrie's relationship, I got goosebumps. She described his depression in ways that I never imagined a woman would do; in all her glory and power, Lana still offers empathy for Barrie and a window of love for him. The relationship inspired me to create a short film based off Lana and Barrie and I submitted to film festival. The amount of reception it got was mind blowing. Please guys, watch it and let me know what you think: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pISmZaOqipxsY5o

Ever since I listened to this song for the first time back in 2014 I think about my dad while listening to it. He's been struggling with depression for years. My family and I give him so much love and support. I know he's better now than before but he's still ill. Sometimes I get afraid of losing him. I don't know what would I do without him, he's my life along my mom. I wish I could fo something for him but all I can do is hug him, kiss him and thank him for being the best dad ever. I always give him the good night along with an "I love you". I don't know if I'm overthinking it, but I get so scared thinking one day I forgot to remind him how much I love him and losing him that day.

I’m depressed and anxiety, bipolar but my family has learned to deal with it, I’m always honest with them, like I’m not suicidal so don’t worry, I’m just depressed, not necessarily unhappy, if that makes sense??? But when I feel like I’m to anxious I spend time alone for however long it takes, letting my family know I’m fine, just letting it run its course, music Lana’s music honestly makes it better!!!

at first the song starts like a love song, first chours are dreamy and loving, but in second verse it starts turning into that gloomy dark assertive anger and sadness and in the second chours the emotions just get more and more raw. then the bridge comes in completely new pitch and tone and it turns the entire song thirty levels darker and deeper. this is what i love about lana's songs. their build ups and emotions.

I understand, all we can do is love them with all we have and stay by their side through thick and thin! My boyfriend is also a very depressive man and it breaks my heart into a million pieces. Having been the depressed one in a relationship was hard, but it gave me a new perspective on how to take care of someone else in the same situation I was once in. When I was in that state, I did not get what I needed from my partner and it opened my eyes to what needed to be done. They’ll never have to be alone and we should remind them of this 🫶🏼 I truly hope you and your boyfriend are thriving, happy and healthy 💖 Best wishes to him, that he sees the beauty of life, and to you who hurts for him and is by his side 💕

this songs lyrics really hit home, not from lanas perspective but from the person she’s describing. i was heavily depressed 2 years ago and in a relationship with the most amazing boy i’d ever known. He always tried to make me see the beauty in the world, to climb out of my bubble of darkness and witness life for what it really is, but i refused. It all got overwhelming for both me and him, we broke up eventually. I know it caused him a lot of pain but a part of me still wishes to get back with him and live life with all the glory that it possesses, but that’s near impossible

i understand what Lana wanted to say in this song so much. i’ve been near the person with whom i was in love and he was so depressed in the end of our relations. it was not that person with whom I had fallen in love earlier. and I felt so bad that I couldn’t help him. it is the awful feeling. really, “love is lost on him”, my love meant nothing to him. he didn’t live in outside world, didn’t see how beautiful things are, how much I care about him. he lived inside him, in dark cruel world. and what I remember the most..his terrible sarcastic jokes. they hurt me so much. but I still remained full of tenderness to him
