When this came out in 1989, I was at a boarding school with dorm rooms located around a central square. During the several weeks it was number one in the UK singles charts, we made a pact one day to place hi-fi speakers in the windows and play it at full volume when it was announced on the BBC Radio 1 chart show. Many others listened in the square. Needless to say, the staff were less than pleased and confiscated dozens of stereo systems. Totally worth it!

The albums spawned 5 top 40 Singles in Australia. Their Album dreamland also took its time. It finally peaked at No 1 in early 1991. Then gone.. they were never to be heard from again.

I love Black Box. I took up dance because of this song. I heard it playing in the dance studio upstairs while waiting in the teacher's office, and the thumping of the girls' feet in time to the music reverberated through the roof. Sadly, my own dance class never used this song, but I did buy the cassette tape and still have it and dance to this song, reliving those first electrifying memories. ❤‍🔥
