Really enjoyed watching your video Dave Scratching on canals and catching proves you've got a brain cos it's proper head scratching time - I fish the Bridgewater and that can be worse than where you are Thank you very much for the entertainment 😊

That looked hard going mate, thought you fished the peg very well, rotating lines was definitely the key. Great video and very informative as usual. Colin Hynard.

I’m not a canal angler but I really enjoy your videos Dave. I especially appreciate the way you explain what you are doing. I’m very much a newbie on the pole and I learn a lot from you. Thank you.

One of the slowest days I’ve seen you have in any of your videos. But that’s fishing as they say. Being a glasses wearer myself I could totally sympathise with your situation on the day.

It looked like a decent peg on the telly mate 😆 All those trees & reeds across, and a bridge hole too. They always used to be nearly as good as drawing an end peg....although in my experience, they only used to have any advantage on canals like the Staffs / Worcester, Shroppy, Trent & Misery, and other canals that have boats on them and a tow. Draw next to any bridge in Brownhills and you'll catch fuck all except Tesco trolleys and bike frames 😆 Except for the Anchor bridge, which did hold some fish. I used to find draws like this to be a bit demoralising to be honest, purely for the things I've said above. Still, you can't grumble with what you caught when you look at the weights around you 👍😎

Until I had cataract surgery I wore bins for years, but I always carried a spare set just in case. Yes, a good day on the bank is better than half a day with the undertaker, you did your best and that's all you can do.

Great video dave and commentary. I know just were your comiing from with glasses. I was starting a match just before all in one of those little screws that hold the lens in came out and 1 of the lenses went stright in the water ended uo fishing with 1 lense in my glasses. Do you think thats why the fish wouldn't settle is pike trouble. So well done Dave from a hard peg and handycapped with you old glasses also great explanation how you fished your peg and what you was doing during your match. So hope you draw a better peg next match tight lines. Ps hope they get your glasses sorted quicker i can.t understand why the optician's take so long. 🎣🎣👍

I think it was more to do with the lack of flow than pike as the pike strike was well short of the line i was fishing but who knows🤷♂️ we're only ever guessing at this game! All i can say was that while it was flowing, the fish were feeding more freely. Glasses, i hate having to wear them but needs must. The reason they're taking so long is because they've had to be sent away. You want to see how I've got through this week, with 2 pairs of glasses on my head! One pair being a magnified pair🙈

Dave what's your go to plan when you start to struggle.... To kick start your peg?
@davebrownfishing2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes there is nothing you can do to turn it around! In situations like that it's a case of fishing for a bonus big fish with worms or such.

whats wrong with pound shop for glasses?
@davebrownfishing2 жыл бұрын
I wear bifocal glasses as my vision is weak at close range and a little better at long range. Magified glasses are no good for that.
