The golden Crowes era… they tore the roof off the Beacon Theater every show from 93-98’ or so… pure fire 💨💨💨🎸🎸🎸🥁🥁🥁🔥🔥🔥

Right on brother,I went to a bunch of those shows...they were a powerful band

100% correct! The Beacon shows were pure bliss. I saw them for the first time in the front row of a secret show at CBGBs - that may have to be the winner show.

the amazing thing about this performance is that their jamming it as if they them selves are in the studio putting down such a badass cover, they are so natural here.

When I came across this gold nugget,it’s no wonder I went on a Black Crowes run for just about a decade back then and jumped in with both feet and took advantage of seeing them with wreck less abandonment ! And all the right and some of the wrong reasons…. Certainly the weight of such sheer MAGIC as this , something about there covers , I remember seeing them two nights at the Orpheum theater in Boston during this period of time they would do this long instrumental jam in the middle of Hard to Handle! Maybe some of you know what I’m talking about ? It still sends me just to think of it how smoothly it flowed for high voltage Rock and Roll ….. I would kill to have a bootleg of that, I believe Govt mule opened……Anyone????
@afmartin2734 Жыл бұрын
'96. Yeah. They started with just an intro jam, but by 1996 and 1997 it was teased Dead style with an intro and outro jam.

Marc Ford and Johnny Colt are a potent combination for the Crowes. Hope they bring them back on the next record.

This was the BAND. This was their time. At this time, this was the greatest band of their time. Loved the Crowes, this was the late 80's, had tickets to see them with ZZtop, they got thrown off the tour before I got to see them. This was their prime.

I'm 36. Steve Marriot is great. Great guitar player as well as singer- very impressive. I think The Black Crowes are the real deal too. Who goes on Letterman and plays a cover? Speaking of covers- check out Gov't Mule's rendition of 30 Days In the Hole- you might like it. There's a popular version on youtube with a purple album cover that features the same Black Crowes lead guitarist as this Letterman video- Marc Ford.

For anyone on here asking who else could do this song this good....I know of one band, Faces. I always thought that's the group that the Black Crowes were influenced most by.
