*Update After Using them for the last couple months* Bottom line is I really love using them. If you have the opportunity to try them out I would go for it. You may not need to use them for every run but they do come in handy during specific situations. While climbing steep terrain I find them super useful for dispersing the weight more evenly throughout the body. It makes climbing easier and I have found I can push harder on sections with poles. Keeping in mind my training is ramping up and some of that may be due to increased fitness. I don't personally use them on flats too much although I could see myself using them towards the end of an ultra. The same with downhill, I prefer saving them for the steep climbs when I will be mostly hiking up. The Salomon quiver while it works well is a bit fiddly. I find they hang to one side making my pack feel like the one shoulder is hanging lower (If I find a better way I will update this comment). I'm no longer worried about breaking them, they have been solid and the only way I could see breaking them would be if you were to get them wedged between two points and then pull them forward. You do need several runs with them to get the most out of them as getting used to them takes a while. Once you do get used to them the rhythm of using them is pretty enjoyable. It also keeps your body upright while climbing and breathing feels more efficient. Thanks for watching, Hope you're all well!

Mine dont, I usually wind them around my hand a few times to tighten them if need be.

The mud baskets do come off on the new versions! You just gotta pull like heck and turn counter-clockwise. It was impossible to try and remove them in the store while attached to the packaging.

Nice that you managed to get them off John. They can be swapped out for smaller and larger ones. All good
