Mesmerizing!! This is one of the greatest pieces of music I've ever heard! I can't stop listening to it!! As a trumpet player myself I am astounded at the skill of this band!

this is perfection! such an amazing band - To me Brass bands in Britain are one of the most important tradition which I hope will continue!

All those moving sixteenth notes are usually played by string sections, and it's quite heartening to hear professional brass take on those passages. An overall very endearing opus.

@turnitback I'd safely say taht concert was one of the best you have ever attended. I would love to attend a concert. Mostly they play in the North of England and I am never there but. Increasingly I feel that a great brass band, and of course this is a truly great band, is a musical delight. I would love to hear them live.

Couldn't they have come up with a less offensive name for this Band?
@RMNhobie10 жыл бұрын
The band was named over 150 years ago and there was nothing offensive about it at the time. :) See Wikipedia's entry on the band.
@powerbomb9310 жыл бұрын
You guys had to take your time to explain to this...person about why it's not "offensive". People like this LIVE for it. It's their raison d'être. I'm sure they've been "offended" 20 times today. They could have looked it up for themselves, instead.

What an ignorant comment! No understanding of history, place or language. Typical comment saturated with Cultural Marxism. An ideology that respects no cultural identity, history, geography or language.

I have a friend who thinks this sounds too much like a piece written only to be played at competitions - but that's not at all how I'm hearing it. I love this piece. :) And I definitely feel a rush, every time, as it begins to near its conclusion. Two things worth noting: Composer PLC majored in percussion, and many of this band compositions make unusual and IMO very effective use of percussion. PLC also grew up as a "Salvation Army brat", though he's not a Salvationist now, so I'm told. However, most if not all of his tunes have a SA song/hymn embedded within them. I'm ot sure that's the case here - probably it is, but I have no idea what SA tune that would be.
