Couldn't get this to work. Only two differences: Our sand was wet, and we used charcoal-lighter lighting fluid, which may be different than Zippo. Ours just made tiny little "worms" that never grew more than about an inch. Ideas?

The sand’s purpose I think is to evenly spread the heat out during the reaction. Doesn’t play any chemical part, but it’s something to place the fuel on top of.
