Supaa, you should go with the new master schematic, Royal Etrean Guard, instead of Prophet's Cloak because it gives 25% more damage to katanas, and 5% more damage to Shattered Katanas

Well, there’s also the fact that black flames isn’t just a Flamecharm path. It is a hybrid path, so not going black flames means not being forced to also invest in Shadowcast. Moreover, the Surge example is pretty bad because I have not seen a soul run regular Thundercall other than when they’re going 20 Thundercall Arcwarder.

Black flame's does have multiple downsides. For One: It's a Dual-Attunement path requiring a stat investment of at least 80. You also much invest even further in the stat-points to make it useful as it removes Burn Damage and replaces it with "Shadow-Burn". Which doesn't deal damage overtime and only Deletes (Not steals) Ether at a relatively slow rate. Considering how effective burn damage can be the complete absence of it outside of landing Shadow Mantra's which only inflict a small burn and loses its ability to steal Ether. I consider it in-line with normal flame as the trade off for a High Investment path with the lack of actual burn damage is pretty major. But in exchange you gain access to exploding clones which is nice.
