I remember visiting my grandmother when my mom and dad would drop us off at the house. She had it in her refrigerator. I grew up being taught not to waste food. You were "not allowed to leave the table until you cleared your plate." So she served me a bowl and I think I had a couple of bites. I think I set at the table and feel asleep while my siblings were playing out side. She finally threw it away. It was horrible. The secret is now that I am an adult, let it soak in the milk and add a little sugar. Still taste like dirt and rocks!!! 🤢🤮

The Pampers ad was one of the first ads with black people. The first day it came on my mother in law who grew up under jim crow.in the south cried. We all knew we saw history that day .

Me and my sister be reminiscing on those times. Ate at McDonald's in peace and got what we order. Nowadays nothing but compilations of fights in these fast food. McDonald's was at its best back then.

Wow thank you for posting. The memories that came back to me gave me goose bumps. Times when we were United. Times When skin color didn’t matter, and politicians nor media divided us. I miss the 70’s, 80’s , and early 90’s 😢

If you can check out the print ads directed to the Black market during that time. A excellent reference is the annual CEBA Awards (Communications Excellence to Black Audiences). An awards ceremony was given every year at the Hilton Hotel in NYC, where awards were given to Madison Avenue agencies who depicted Black in a positive light in their commercials, radio spots, and print advertising.

Saturday Afternoon Commercials, usually during sports shows and movies, Kim Fields with Mrs. Butterworth is a clear memory along with John Amos working for McDonalds. LOL Thanks for cracking open the caramel cranium covering, they're nice memories from TV.
