the reason she smells the lid is because it's the true scent of what the candle will smell like when it's burning. smelling the actual candle is too strong. just wanted to let you know in case you didn't know. :)

When you smell the candle itself, the smell of the wax will interfere with the scent. When you sniff the lid, you get a better idea of what the candle will smell like when you burn it.

depending on the place the candle you got it from sometimes you need to trim the wick if it smells like smoke thats probably whats wrong. I hope that helped =)

Also, I sat outside of VS for three hours. I was second in line. The second the door was three feet off the ground, I dove under and then I crawled on my hands and knees towards the bins. My mom was behind me and said it was the funniest thing she had ever seen. Especially when I stood up and got thrown over the bins. At one point, I was laying with my face in a bin and sat there grabbing everything with my size. I wound up with six things, too. It's okay. :) Defintitely the most fun EVER.
