I'm not gonna lie some anime is not worth it but most anime are actually good and can't always throw big stuff at the beginning it has to build up first. I think most people don't have patience for fictional or animated stories that need time to tell its plot. So it can be hard if you never seen anime, not used to digging deeper, or care for animation in general. But depending what you watch gets you hype for certain reasons.
