Where Africans owned Northern European whites for almost 100 years. Why isn't there a Barbary Slave trade month? Africans owned slavic people for 400 years. The irony is that black slavery in America was minuscule compared to the slavery that went on all over the world yet they get an entire month. The point should be there shouldn't be a month at all for anyone. We should just call it Anti Slavery month and not make it about one race as if black people are the only people who have suffered slavery.

Bro why should blacks get a month when loads of others where enslaved.
@jessa94734 жыл бұрын
Alanis Morrissette I can understand your perspective. Sure there are other groups of people that have been oppressed or even enslaved. And maybe they should be celebrated. If that's so important to you, why don't you fight for it like American people fought for this? Also, you may not be aware, but black history month isn't just a pity party for those enslaved. It's a celebration of accomplishments despite all of the obstacles. Other countries have experienced completely different things throughout history, and choose to (or not to) celebrate accordingly. That doesn't mean that what's celebrated for a specific group of people here should be belittled. Plenty of other groups of people are celebrated and honored as well, just in different ways.

White people and black people are so different, why do we even compare. Like, to be for real, black people act OH so different than white people. People shouldn’t be compared, we should just acknowledge the differences and live with it.

Kavryia I know, but the different races have different personality types. I would write some stereotypes down, but it would sound racist. It’s also voice, attitude, personality, and choices. And even that can apply to everyone anyway, so why don’t we acknowledge our differences.
