To help you: Exo used to have 12 members but now they have 9 members with only one Chinese member left which is Lay. They don't split into M and K anymore due to the lack of members in Exo-M but they still do version of their song in Mandarin. They have everything in double because the group was separated in two so they were like twin sub-group with on each sub-group something like 1 Main dancer, 2 Main Vocalist, 1 Main rapper and then a Lead rapper, Lead dancer or a Lead vocalist. - Exo-M's members: Xiumin, Lay, Chen + Former members Tao, Luhan and Kris - Exo-K's members: Suho, Chanyeol, Baekhyun, D.O., Sehun and Kai. He is pursuing his career in the US as an actor and rapper/singer. Power: Flight. *Luhan* born in 1990 as well and was the main vocalist, lead dancer, visual and face of the group of Exo-M. As you watch EXO Music videos you’ll notice that they are more of members in some and less of them in others. This is because EXO were originally a 12 membered group but 3 of them left at different points since their debut; that’s why there are 12 members in their older videos and in Call Me Baby there’s 10 until the final member left after the music video was released. Now they have 9 members but one member has a solo career in China that he promotes for as he is the only Chinese member in EXO, that’s why you saw only 8 members in Love Shot. Hopefully I didn’t confuse you, I just wanted you to know so you wouldn’t get confused when you react to their older stuff versus their newer stuff.

Here's the thing Exo debuted in 2012 with their singles "what is love" and "history" and then in 2013 a proper debut with album "xoxo" and at that time there were 12 members in which two sub units Exo-k(sings in Korean) and Exo-m (sings in Chinese) but in 2014 two members named Kris and Luhan(both were Chinese members and you must have seen them in wolf mv) left the group before their concert but were there in the Overdose album and then the both groups merged and after the release of call me baby video another member named Tao(another Chinese member) left the group and all these members left due to the shitty treatment by the company and now there are 9 members but the only one Chinese member left is Lay who is unable to come to Korea due the recent effects of hallyu ban in China so is not seen in some MVs of Exo but he is making solo content under the company ...... Exo has quite a sad history but all of them still love each other and today the eldest member of Exo is enlisting in army
