It's absolutely, absolutely true that you shouldn't look down on people since doing so will bite you back! I experienced this. I was dedicating 1 hour each day to reading the Quran. This made me really happy and I was very proud of it. When I was out with friends one day, one of them said that they were finding it difficult to read the quran and hoped they could at least devote 10 minutes to the Qur'an. I didn't say this outloud, I was just thinking, "10 minutes? That is so simple, how are they struggling?" After that day I slowly read less and less. They time I put to read become smaller and samller. And now I am struggling to just read 10 mintues of the quran. Subhanallah.....It really came back for me.

Try and read 2 sides (basically 1 double sided page) after each salah, that way you could finish half a juz each day. Or try do 4 sides after each prayer to finish one juz each day. Depending on how fast you read it shouldn’t take too long if you are always busy, this way you can input the Qur’an into your daily life. If you read slower do try at least 1 page. Don’t hasten to do so much at once, maybe an hour seemed easy at first but became harder. Dedicate shorter amounts of time, more throughout the day. Pride can ruin us a lot, do make dua for your friends that they have ease with reciting the Qur’an and do seek Allah’s forgiveness and seek strength in doing deeds to your best abilities. I’m sure you did not have bad intentions but we all have our own journeys so do try and help others with the blessing Allah has given you. May Allah accept your recitation and grant you the ability to have a beautiful connection with him, Allahumma ameen. ❤ Narrated `Aisha: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little." Sahih al-Bukhari 6464
