Nice invention. I see that the bass drum sizes go down to 18 inches. I have a Ludwig Breakbeats kit that has a 16 inch bass drum as well as a bass drum platform. What would be the solution for that drum? I imagine a 16 inch Black Hole and buying off the shelf bungee cords could solve that issue but not sure about the bass drum hoop lining up with a pad made for a tom size. I'd also need to figure out getting the bass drum into the same height position as I do with the platform but that might be workable.

RTOM Corporation -- Are you referring to the extender you normally bundle with the 18 Inch and above Black Hole bass drum solutions? Or are you referring to another product? Either way I'll want to purchase it. Just need to know what to get.

how would the RTOM Black Hole mesh bass drum head go on a DW Drums Pancake Bass Drum? As it only has a batter side bass drum hoop, I am thinking that the bungee cord with hooks would need to stretch around the non batter side and back to the hoop on the batter side. Maybe a flatter elastic strap would work better that a cord would possibly work better too and less likely to damage a wooden drum shell & hoop

Wait do the bungee cords come w them racks ?

Mine did not come with bungees also it doesn’t fit my bass drum head even though it says it’s the right size so fuck me I guess 😂

But the problem persist, is going parallel with the hoop; not inside or covering outside..that WILL move. (Proof? ) Read all feedback from Sweetwater's website.

The tension rods and the included bungee cords keep the Black Hole head in place. Please note our current system is not compatible with T -rods, in this case the BH head would move.

Uh, my provided plate doesn't look like that

If your base pedal extender is different that means you have the newest design. Do you need any instructions on installation? If so, please email us on the contact page at rtom.com

While I absolutely love the snare and tom application of these heads, I think the bass head fitment is a poor experience. Shame it's not as fast and easy as the snare/toms.

It is much more time consuming to install than the snare/tom heads. Those are brilliant and install in seconds! The bass head does not stay in place well because it just floats on the edge of the hoop. I also don't like the adapter plate design as it shifts when I play. I would prefer that the head fit just inside the hoop and was notched at the bottom so I wouldn't have to mess with changing the pedal around at all. For me it is the difference between just installing the heads and playing late at night and not wanting to mess with it because it's a hassle.

Completely understood. I appreciate knowing my feedback is being heard.

I also really like the snare and toms but I have the same feeling towards the bass drum. While the head does stay in place, the adapter plate has me getting up and going back to my electronic set. I keep stopping and looking to see if the bass drum has moved, but the spurs are in the same place. It just feels like it is getting away from me.

I look forward to seeing this!

Thank you for the prompt reply, I really appreciate it! I will keep a look out for the redesigned extender. I don't know if it matters or not, but I'm using an Iron Cobra double pedal.
