This is so beautiful. Takes a song I spent rocking out to in the 90s as an angry teen to mellow it out to something I can just sigh through in my 40s. It feels like it has aged and mellowed with me. Thank you for that feeling. I love humming it to myself again.

True sis. I remember coming home from school and turning on MTV ( back when they played videos) in hopes of this coming on. My brothers use to make fun of me for listening to "white music" but every time this would come on, here they come, listening. They listen to all types of music now. I've found that it's the songs that dig deep into my soul that have made the list (which still isn't complete). "Black Hole Sun" is one of those, and it made the list a long time ago. I just listened to the Soundgarden original, and then switched over to this one--and was totally blown away. And yes, it made me weep...

There are SO many things to love about this. Jenna Bell's vocal is flawlessly expressive and on target. I love the surreal picture of her soothing the puppy dog in her lap. After Chris died, it was hard to hear the line without crying. After awhile, it got easier and I was able to enjoy it again, without feeling that sadness. Then I listen to this and I cried again. Not so much from sadness but that there is still talent (like this young lady) carrying the torch. "No one sings like you anymore."
