Beautiful sky, beautiful plane, and great flying control. I love seeing videos of modelers who can actually precisely fly the planes they build. Great scale takeoff and landing.

Very nice work. I’m building this plane with a UMS 180. Wondering if you could give me some feedback on how you mounted the motor? It seems the right lower hole will be outside the engine box if mounted on the datum line of the airplane. I was using fusion to design a new firewall and was just wondering how you worked that out! Really beautiful work man!
@ticketec3 ай бұрын
I used an 18mm spacer block to mount the engine on the standard firewall. The bolt that goes along the edge of the firewall has its recessed head in the back of that block and the nut on the engine mount side. you can then use a "normal" bolt though the spacer block through the firewall in a more convenient position.

❤ that 190 got one and have a ums 125 to put in it, hope it has the power? FF
@ticketec8 ай бұрын
I have seen one fly with the 125cc and it was fairly marginal on power. I would recommend use only 2 blade prop, to get the maximum out of the engine. The 180 flies comfortably on just over 1/2 throttle

Very nice work I'm impress, i have the same with a saito fg 84 r3 however i have overheating issue everyone tell me i should open the engine cowl to increase the air intake. Do you have to opened your cowl ? how have you done to maintain the air ratio 1/3 ? thank you for your help Best regards from France and once again congratulation for your excellent work......
@ticketec3 жыл бұрын
Hi, do you have the 2600mm span Fw-190? I have seen these fly with a 125cc radial and it was marginal in power. The Saito may not have the power for a 1/4 scale. I did do an engine baffle at the front of the cowl to make sure all incoming air must come over the cooling fins. I also made another opening on the bottom of the cowl a little larger than the exhaust openings on the sides.

@@ticketec Thank you i've seen the fg 84 fly this bird decently however a 150 or 180 must be a better option i'm looking forward for an ums one bur not enough intel that day about the reliability of these engine....

@@ticketec hi after all the consideration and testing with my fg 84 , i ve decided to follow your way for my fw. I m planning to put the 180 ums, my concern is about the location battery forward in the fuselage, for a perfect achievement of cg, and my last question is which size is your fuel tank for the 180 ? It's my first experience with a five cylinders, despite the bad reputation of ums in the past, I'm gonna try following your way. Thanks you very much for your reply that for sure will help me a lot overseas. Best regards from France.

@@castlefranck3979 Great move! All 3 of my battery's are in the tail compartment, under the tailwheel hatch. My fuel tank is 750ml, and I use only about 1/3 for a 7 minute flight. I am 1/2 throttle or less for most of the flights. You can see some of my build here, and I can respond with more pictures if needed: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3214715-New-Blackhorse-Model-2-6m-Fw190
