Ghost story is definitely straubs best work in my opinion. I love detective novels and fantasy and horror so this was a 5 star book for me. It even made me laugh out loud with the old man that was possessed because of the dialogue. Shadowland is another great straub read

Black House is a horror novel by American writers Stephen King and Peter Straub. Published in 2001, it is the sequel to The Talisman. This is one of King's numerous novels, which also include Hearts in Atlantis and Insomnia, that tie in with the Dark Tower series. Black House was nominated to the Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel.

So I am a huge audiobook person, I work nights and I just listen to books all night. I finished The Dark Tower series and ka is a circle. So I re listened to the Tailism and I still think Richard is a annoying important person. I’m listening to The black house and the introduction of floating over this little town for the first two hours of the book is a bit much. I’m very interested in the dark tower ties and I do agree this book is not as satisfying as the first but the dark tower references are keeping me interested.

Yes, love the DT books. Agree that this book is a lot less fantasy than The Talisman, however I thoroughly enjoyed this. I hope theres a third book.

I think elements of this book were used in the Dark Tower movie. Tyler Marshall = movie Jake Chambers, the child who could bring the Tower down.

Has any King fan realized that his idea may have well come from King Crimson’s album In The Court of the Crimson King. It can’t be a weird coincidence. Stephen must either like their music or just liked the title

Definitely not a trilogy--or, if it was going to be, it can't be any more with Straub's death. I don't associate this duology at all with the Dark Tower and love it as a stand alone story about the Territories and Sawyer.
