One of the bands that I really wish would have made it big :( they have such great songs that makes you want to vibe to and dance along to. “In a Song” and “If my broken heart” and of course this one. Favorite songs by BK wish I would have seen them live in person.

Pretty sure they still play shows. I saw them a few years back and it definitely was one of the most fun and danceable shows! P.S. Origami is another one of their best songs imo 😊

Gonna mention this song next time one of my bandmates (who doesn't know how to write) says "but it's the same 4 chords over and over". lol

Kevin Swift hate when people add chords just for the sake of having more chords haha

@@DallasMahon YES it's so stupid. Like there's a rule book to songwriting or something, lol. (And even if there were this wouldn't even be a thing, haha)

the problem is he doesnt know ho to write melody.
@thebasedgodmax11633 жыл бұрын
the problem isn't just using the same four chords. if it's a song with a great a melody as this one it works, but when the person writing isn't actually good at that, four chords comes off as boring and lazy. but most of the time it's the four chords being used. if you're just writing with basic i-v-vi-iv throughout the entire song then that's probably not gonna be very interesting. but your bandmate needs to understand that it's not the amount of chords you use, it's what you do with them.
@kevinswift86543 жыл бұрын
@@thebasedgodmax1163 I totally agree! It can certainly be boring but it all depends on what you do with them. I also think it's hard for them to zoom out and see the bigger picture... their part is really simple so they see that but don't see the song as a whole. Reasonable musicians will usual see the big picture, if it's executed well, of course.
