Love to see more of your reactions to older Eurovision songs, since I am a fan of Eurovision since the mid 80s . Would love to see you react to Olivia's performance from 1974. Try to use the shortclips from the channel SchlagerLucas. Much better clips.

Cheryl Baker was in Coco. I was in Panto with her in 1991/92. She was lovely.

Thanks for this, I really enjoyed watching it. My favourite has to be the brotherhood of man. The older songs are just so different from today. All that crazy staging we have today hasn't come in yet. I feel it's all focused on the staging today. Not a bad thing just different.

What a great video ! I wish the clips were a bit longer for you as some of the songs you didn’t even get the chorus. Mary Hopkin is Welsh 😀Did you spot Cheryl Baker in Coco . Also Sally Ann triplet from Bardo was in Prima Donna , it’s all one great Eurovision melting pot. Looking forward to part two !

You need to listen to Bad Old Days by CoCo again, in full (1978). Great song, but shocking Eurovision result. Cheryl Baker (Bucks Fizz) was in this group.

Great summary, like you, I wish the clips were a bit longer! I’m big Matt Monro fan, his song ‘I love the little things’ was written by Tony Hatch I believe. 1964 is the only year where there is no video recording that was archived.

Black Lace had several lineups i remember the 2 from the mid-80s Agadoo era i think they were Colin Gibb and Alan Barton both deceased now x

Rock Bottom was a great song, I hope you get to watch the whole performance. Bad Old Days by Coco is one of my favs, but the Eurovision performance wasn't great - check out the studio version of the song, I love that.

Oh the 1970's fashions...1972 The New Seekers and Olivia Newton John in 1974 all that Bri Nylon in those maxi dresses...all the static coming from those frocks, wide lapelled shirts and spangling trousers must have been shocking! 😃 As for 1976 Save All Your Kisses For Me, I still cry when I hear this song for personal reasons. Rest in Peace Martin Lee who passed away in September 2024 aged 77. Ps. Cheryl Baker of Bucks Fizz was in 1978's band Coco who came 11th.

FAMILY TRIVIA: Teddy Johnson (1959) and Bryan Johnson (1960) were brothers. Teddy and Pearl Carr (both from 1959) were married. Among members of Prima Donna (1980) were Danny Finn, husband of Eve Graham from The New Seekers (1972), as well as Lance Aston, brother of future winner Jay Aston from Bucks Fizz (1981).

Honestly, I only remember Beg, Steal or Borrow by the Seekers. They give me an ABBA feel to it, that my father listened to when I was young. Another Eurovision contestant.

There is a much better compilation video than this, gives you bit longer of each song than this and so you get better feel of the song plus gives you more general information.
