While some Chinese students can speak both Mandarin and Cantonese. Those from southern China, including Hong Kong, usually only speak Cantonese. As with other lesser known Chinese dialects, it must be heartwarming for them to be spoken to, in their own language. As with this lady, it put a big smile on her face. I just wish i had the brain power to learn languages like Moses does. All the best my friend. And please give my kindest regards to your mom too.

@Tappy Toes No ones's hating. It's just facts. He knows some languages well, like Cantonese and Mandarin, but if you watch his other videos it's very clear that he learns the same 30 or so phrases in each language, calls it a day, and moves on to the next one. That's not "learning" a language, that's doing enough to have a quick conversation, upload it to KZbin, and make money off the ad revenue.
