OurWoRLd319 The problem is the fact they are charging for an unfinished product with dead multiplayer. Xen has not been added and it's 2019. That is 11 years and no Xen. It's been 6 years with Xen still not released... Is what I WAS saying, but Xen is here! It’s finally out of beta and a finished product. All the other parts have been enhanced and fixed up to be up to the usual modern game standards (but MSAA is strangely MIA). And the latest patch 1.5 also fixes some gripes I’ve had since the beginning of it being on Steam. You could say it was worth the weight

Was this played out to VHS and then recaptured after damaging the tape? It has a similar feel to the Alien isolation trailers which used the same trick in parts. Really lovely work. If the effect is done in AE or Premiere I'd be very impressed (and be immediately asking for the effects plugins).

People, this is our chance to show Valve, Bethesda, and everyone else, how paid mods are supposed to work. This is how Counterstrike and Day of Defeat and Red Orchestra and so many other epic games went retail, remember? This isn't the Skyrim Workshop fiasco, this is an excellent mod that spent an incredible amount of time in development and was released for free (AND STILL IS FREE FOR THE INITIAL RELEASE, GO DOWNLOAD IT IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME), and the developers have managed to craft a complete overhaul that turns it into a full fledged retail product with all that implies. If it is broken for any reason, they now do have certain obligations to address those issues with support staff and such as an official Steam release, instead of the vague 24-hour refund periods and Valve telling you to "politely ask the devs" to fix any gamebreaking crashes. They had to get approval through Greenlight, which they did, overwhelmingly so. They are sharing many assets with the mod community. This is not the same as WorkshopGate, please, gamers, lets make this work. Lets restore the status quo. Make this mod a success. Show the companies and modders what we want. A way to truly support the modders who churn out the truly epic cash-worthy projects. This isn't $5 for a reskinned glass sword, third party horse armor, this is BLACK MESA SOURCE. We've known about this mod going retail for some time now. This is not a shot out of the blue. *THIS. IS. OUR. CHANCE.* Make it work. Now more then ever, it's vital we do.

Scout Hedgehog And yet the comments with all the thumbs up are the congratulatory ones or the ones disparaging the complainers. I think it's obvious who the majority really is, even if they prefer to stick to thumbs rather then comments. Plus there's the whole "Black Mesa being one of the top sellers on Steam as of posting" thing.

Black Mesa isn't a mod any more. It's a standalone game.

BDNeon Yeah but uhh. I don't want a fucking HL1 remake, I hardly liked that game. So... (Besides if they don't keep the versions in parity then it's still not really an optional payment to be clear, while it's nice to know the free version WILL be updated it's clearly them incentivizing paying for the game, if anything they should have released the game free then had a "Digital Deluxe" version or something that included extra content or simply stated it was a "donation", I have a strong feeling they'll try to keep the free one hidden.)
