Nahh those Ilano coolers are over $200 here, so that option is off the table. Regarding thermal putty, I’ve already applied 1mm 12kW thermal pads on the VRAMs and MOSFETs, and it’s a new motherboard as well, yet there’s no improvement. And are thermal putties necessary, or are pads sufficient for VRAMs and other components? Anyways i think basically Nitro 5 architecture itself is shitt -_-

So, between two kind of sucky choices, do I send my laptop, my current primary PC, in for a battery swap in-warranty and be without it for a month, or say screw the warranty and order a battery out-of-pocket for $100 and do it myself.

That fully depends on your confidence in your own abilities and if you could go a month without it. If you are confident and can't go without it for a month then do it yourself. If you aren't confident you can do it yourself then I'd bite the bullet and send it in. Saves you 100 bucks too

@Considered I’ve done phone battery replacements (special fuck you to the Galaxy S7, btw), and the gaming laptop battery swap was a 5 minute job, I ate the $100 and did it myself. Went without a hitch.
