When I first got Black Mesa, it didn't have Xen, but when Xen got released, I played through, took my time, and when I was at the gates to Xen, I turned off all the hud stuff, jumped in, got greeted by this music... Looked in shock over how beautiful it was, made me feel like a kid again, so I stood there for a little while to embrace the beautiful master piece that had been created from a 20 year old game :) I still do this to this day

I barely even remember the Nihalanth fight, but they're Gonarch matriarch will stand out in my mind forever as one of the greatest moments in gaming and it is so heavily uplifted by this music

This hits different in game. You just battled through a maze of laboratories and military complexes, and all of a sudden you are in a lush, open, celestial world. An amazing moment of gaming to be sure!

I recently played black mesa without any previous experience with HL but lots of knowledge of the source engine from CS and gmod. The way the crowbar collective constructed the whole game - xen especially - is amazing. I was completely blown away when this soundtrack started playing. The beautiful scene in a 2004 engine with this music is fantastic.

I love how parts like 2:01 always fool my mind, I feel like another note should go there but that's not what happens in the song an it's fascinating but my mind just never understands it. This is probably just something that happens to me but this gives a feel of "something from beyomd"

@@petersinkworking6198 This, for whatever reason the people who created Adrian went out of their way to not voice him even though it's implied that he speaks (to the drill inspector, to his peers, etc) unlike Gordon's case, but he's not voiced, likely by to put the character in the position of being an easy self-insert for the player.
