Can anyone in the know tell me, where do producers get drum samples like this? They sound clean but like they've been made or run through analogue equipment, they already have a warm distortion to them. Are there some classic sample packs that producers like Black Milk would use? Thanks for any help.

In hip hop, the term "remix" is used when an accapella is placed over a new instrumental. What Black Milk does is "sampling".

just use what brings out the best in your music. stop debating i cant stress that any further. if your good at what you use dont belittle another program that you might not comprehend or know how to use and if there is another producer that uses another program or another method of production dont say your method is better than his just give that man credit for making it sound good. show love dont hate and make good music. peace!!!!

It's not a blend if the background instrumental is new (sampled or composed). In hip hop, this is what a remix is: "There are 3 different ways to remix. One way is to just change the background beat, another way is to feature several new people in the song (with or without new vocals), and the last way is to take out and add in new vocals of the original song. All three methods may be used all at once. " I got that from another site. What Black Milk is doing is sampling, not remixing. Peace.
@grecoj216 жыл бұрын
He used a sample. He took elements from the original recording and did his own sequencing and arranging. He created his own new piece of music by incorporating the sample.
@lupe11516 жыл бұрын
what beat is that???????? too sick!!!!!
@ScottMcSanchez16 жыл бұрын
Well, where are you going to get your samples from? You're going to either have to buy software with samples, or records. If you buy records, you're going to need turntables that can turn the analog signal from the records into a digital signal for your MPC. Plus, you're going to want a keyboard, a computer with a big hard drive to store your songs, and you need to learn HOW to program your MPC. Also, you'll want good speakers to hear the sounds with good quality. Time and money add up.

As a guy that made beats on acid by clicking copying and pasting.I now use a mpc.I think the only thing that matters is the quailty of sounds that you use and that you put your heart and soul into your music.Just beacuse you have a mpc 500,1000,2000,2000xl,3000,4000,5000 MV-8800, motif, Fantom, Fl, Cubase, Reason or any othere program or hardware doesnt mean your music going to be good. If you dont belive me look at some of the vids on this site.Its all about what you want to use and can afford
