I've kept both dalmatian and black mollies and they are very easy to keep. And yup they do breed like crazy so a large tank is best.

I was given 20 baby mollies they are white, siler, dalmation , black and gold and black. They are around 4 months now I cant tell the difference between some of the male/females. But some are getting aggressive I've taken some out and put them in a smaller tank. Suggestions please

A densely planted and decorated tank and just let them have fun and live their best life, the decor and plants will break up the line of sight for them but the males chase females ALOT don’t mistake that for aggression.

What temp do you treat a molly tank of they have ich? I read it just speeds up life cycle of the parasite if you crank the heat gradually to 85 or 86. Isn't that hard on the fish if you're treating with anti fungal and ant ich medications? I moved my fish to two 5 gallon buckets to treat them while I overhaul their 29 tank. The medication is tetra anti fungal and kordon anti ich med. It has methyl blue and malachite green. I don't have any live plants ATM. Should I use any aquarium salt? The fish are at 80-82* f ATM in both buckets. I'm going to invest in a quarantine tank for any other problems in future.

I also bought a undergravel filter and new gravel. I plan on using a sponge filter to help new cycle that's from my 55 tank.

One thing you should do is only get sponge filters because I had baby mollies happen and they were my first ones and I got sad because I got sucked into my filter😢

I just bought a male dalmatian molly and a silver female gotta get more females, their in a tank with a female EBA and a bunch of danios and a dwarf gourami and so far everyone else is good, but I have owned a lyrtail black molly male that was extremely aggressive and I re-homed him.

You said make sure you're feeding them enough... How many times a day do you feed them? My Dalmatian Molly was being aggressive to my black Molly so I separated them into different tanks. The Dalmatian went crazy and every day he's going up and down the glass swimming back and forth very fast. I'm going to buy two or three females to put in there with him. Do they have to be the same color or can it be any of the colored mollies?

If it's not an oxygen problem, then they're likely eating the surface biofilm, they do that sometimes, if you have a colony then they're basically living skimmers.

In answer to your question as to why I was watching your black Molly video…I bought a single black Molly 4 months ago and added it to a community tank 20 somethin gallon, and this thing (BM) has not stopped growing!! ..and as of late it has become near as big around as it is long ! It looks VERY PREGNANT, but it’s the only Molly In the tank! It is constantly eating and pooping and has a white butt hole that is huge lol. So wth? Oh and I looked at yer drawing re male/female, but haven’t looked at the Molly yet to compare as I would have lost this connection. Thanks for the info. In the video …how many tanks do you own???

@@blakeanderson1997 Well it’s still growing, and now it’s rests it’s belly on one of the aquarium decorations periodically, as it’s truly a huge belly on this thing and must be a heavy load ….I would imagine if it was having babies it would have by now? Can’t help but wonder how much bigger it will get.

Is it alright to put a breeding tank in the 20 gallon ok. Cuz it keeps trying to push her way through the plexiglass like she is in jail. I just dnt want her fry to all get eaten up. But i have put alot of hiding spots but i have bottom feeders that roam around. Eating leftovers. Think it will be safe to just let her roam with the other fishes. Cuz they all swim deep together. Like a gang lol

Idk why but I’ve had bad luck with Molly’s. 4 of my 7 have perished. I have great water levels. A heater. Monthly water changes of 40-50%. My guppies and mixed Glow fish are all thriving. The tank is not planted. What gives?

I have many mollies and have to tell you not rely on mollies eating algae. If they are that hungry they will start eating their babies so best to feed them at least twice a day. Depends on your goals I guess. I don’t like seeing them eating their babies

Madness I had a Tank with angels and cats happy as ever cats got too big give them away to a big tank angels for a week seemed sad got some mollys next the angels breeding now had to separate them but I’m scared there not happy there swimming pretty frantic up n down although where I bought them they were doing this an the guy said they are great with angels 😅🤣 clearly not from what your saying and Iv noticed because I did leave them in the male mollies are cracking on ….😅angels are vicious

Not really, sailfins maybe, but ones that I would absolutely not keep with bettas are goodeids, if I had some.

dont feed 3 times a day, put it in a "hospital tank" a lil warm temp, little bit uniodozed salt kitchen, and fast for 1 day. sp dont feed him 24 hours, then the next day, feed once a day. that fish will be better.
