Rain and mist in wet Welsh Wales - who'd have thought? 😂 All part of the joys of motorcycling; I used to encounter similar conditions on my 75-mile commute, back in the early '60's - and no full-face helmets or breathable waterproof gear back then!

The Black Mountain Pass is a decent enough road but I definitely wouldn't class it as the best road in Wales. I think Gospel Pass a bit further across the mountain range is a better road in many ways but my favourite riding road is the A483 form Crossgates to Newtown. the mountain road from Lake Vyrnwy over to bala has some spectacular views and the mountain road from Elan Valley to Aberystwyth is a nice journey too.

Absolutely agree! It only gets the best road in Wales tag because of Top Gear. I did a video on Bala to Vyrnwy - I LOVE that road 😊 Thanks for the comment Mike 👍🏻

We climbed snowdon eight times and only once had a view from the summit.

@@PGTripsMediaYou’re right, it was impressive but we found it more of a challenge to climb a mountain called “Tryfan” and leaping Adam and Eve at the summit. Great vlog BTW, I felt your pain, I hate riding in those conditions.

It is indeed the best biking route in Wales. On a clear day. Unfortunately, every time I road it, it was in torrential rain. Every. Single. Time.

Morning Patrick, I did that same road, in very similar weather on a Hornet 600 in 2002. I was underwhelmed too ! There are much better roads in Wales in my opinion. 👍

Agreed! One of them is coming up in a video in the near future 🤩 I think all the drone shots make it look better than it actually is to ride. No doubt it’s still a cracking road, but as you say, much better roads elsewhere in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍🏻

I did the same pass on my Vespa GTS last year as part of a 5 day tour. I had exactly the same weather on this pass, scary and dangerous but… memorable though not for the views !
