Black Mountain || San Diego, CA || California Mountain Biking

Welcome back everyone!
This is my first video of many from my trip out west. Black Mountain is located in the western part of Poway, California just outside of San Diego, CA proper. This was my first ride after arriving in CA and I was eager to get my wheels dirty. The first trail on my list to ride was Black Widow a black diamond rated downhill trail. The trail was steepish with plenty of little side hits and rocky sections to keep things interesting. Then a climb back up the Black Mountain Summit road led me back to the trail Miners Loop. The overall ride was fun but not something i would really ride again if in the area. There are so many trails in the San Diego area and a bit further north. There has to be some hidden gems in this region of the state. Overall it was a good first ride and more to come here soon!

Dang that looked cool man! Love when you can see the trail far off ahead on some bare hills; and when there’s super wide, technical singletrack where there are constantly several lines available, reminds me of LPS and early parts of Porcupine Rim! Fun vid! 🤙

I didn't love black mountain, but Black Widow is a decent trail by most standards Did you make it up to Greer or San Clemente dog park?

Your suspension could certainly use some better setting up. You shouldn’t be losing all of your momentum over those little hits as you’re going down the trail.

What trails did you notice this loss of momentum? I was using brakes on the trail.
