Man! I'll bet that song was REALLY hard to learn. You make it look easy. That would take me probably a good year to learn. And STILL not play it as good as you nailed it. Kudos! Definitely the best cover of this song I've ever listened to. Cool video. 😎

I love that song. Well played.. I found something neat with Stairway to heaven. Up the scale with config of c chord. The normal played version of the first chord config is an off chord which is also the end chord that sounds like the end chord of the theme from the original James Bond score.

Wow this guitar sounds amazing, was the guitar also amplified? It sounds so much more than just an acoustic on its own running through a video camera mic, it sounds amazing👍💯👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@DougShanahanMusic2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. It wasn't amplified. I played it into a canon cam corder at the time. I believe I edited it using Pinnacle software that I used to use. There were some tools in there to add effects like EQ, reverb and I remember turning some dials until it sounded the way it does.
@philmartin74742 жыл бұрын
@@DougShanahanMusic Wow, it sounds so great, such jangle and presence. What brand strings and gauge? Brass, Bronze?
@DougShanahanMusic2 жыл бұрын
@Phil Martin I used Martin strings. Phosphor bronze light/medium. It's a gauge they have between light and medium. Nice full sound but not as hard on the bridge as mediums.

Not matter how I try (and I've been listening and playing this for over 30 years) I just can't help but hear the main riff as starting on the "and" of 4 rather than the "One" of one! It is damn frustrating ...I wish someone would ask Jimmy to explain the timing of this piece
@michaelball7488 Жыл бұрын
TIMING IS WHAT MAKES THIS SONG HARD.....
@coolmacatrain9434 Жыл бұрын
No, it's quite easy to play .. the problem is nobody seems to be able to agree on which beat the tune starts. I have several transcriptions from various Led Zeppelin books and from Guitar magazines and not one of them starts on the same beat. I would just love to hear Jimmy clear it up once and for all.@@michaelball7488
