For those of you who have been waiting for 3 weeks, I hope the video lived up to your expectations :) I honestly thought this video is gonna be a quick 10 mins video so I split it. Hot dang! It's almost 30 mins! Becuase I kept adding stuff in 😂. I only have night time to edit, research, and film this video so I have been using every night (no exception) to make this video happen. I tried as fast as I possibly can and I pause other video productions. You know this is the time I really wish I have Sun Wukong's ability to pluck his hair to make many clones of himself! 🐒🐒🐒 Also I took a trip to Toronto last week! Love the Yonge Street! ❤ It was a trip I planned a long time ago. And I was sick during the trip. Still coughing today (fml🙃). Yea after this video, I will be making the good ending video. I have done the research already, since I did with with the bad ending, hopefully it will be out within 2 weeks lmao. I will disappear again, and I will batch film some Shorts (I love Shorts), I already put too much research effort for the good ending, whether I like it or not, it will happen, don't worry. Thank you for all the love!

I would really appreciate and enjoy a reading of this Chinese novel. You could read small parts and explain it to us, that why you are expanding on it and added content to the original. Plus I think translation are your own as well. Far as my opinion I enjoyed your video. It reminded me of a old tv show were monkey king became a Budda and then WuKong and Budda had a argument. And Budda rejected WuKong. But later Budda dies somehow and people are trying to bring him back. Never watch it because I couldn't understand it. I don't think it was a Chinese TV show. But another Asian country that made it. 🤔 back in 2008 I actually started Sun WuKong Fan Subs and found a few Chinese friends to help me make the English Subtitles for the 1996 version with Dicky as WuKong. I got busy after a few episodes with work so I dropped out. But one of the ladies continued the work. Miss Jade was her name. I still proud I had a part in the videos that are out there now with English Subtitles. Anyway since then I have watched so many tv shows and a few movies. I dubbed the whole monkey king 2014 movie in English myself. If you want to check it out I could email a link to download it. Oh course you probably enjoy watching the original. 😉 knowing Chinese. I hate when they make WuKong have a love interest 😒 he never had any interest in women. Maybe Pigsy always chasing girls. But not monkey king. But I still enjoy the shows like monkey king 3 where Dickinson came back. It was a wild show. He was my favorite monkey king until I made my own voice for WuKong 😅 anyway I still like Dickinson. I wish someone would make a Dicky model for Black myth wukong. Anyway I look forward to more of your videos. And hope you will do a English reading of that novel. If you just post a English version pdf somewhere that be awesome 👏 😎 anyway thank you for your video.

Thought with the bad ending, you become the new broken shell. Then you start NG+ and fight yourself at the end, then NG++ = loop.
@geraldcortez8262 ай бұрын
That's exactly what happened in my humble opinion. 💯 after all the monkey in the rock looks exactly like the stone monkey. I think the monkey is the mind sense relic, just without the memories of WuKong. And old three eyed puppie has the true essence of the mind relic. But the broken shell of the mind essence is both the monkey we play as and the stone monkey we fight against at the end. Until the true essence is returned to the mind shell aka the monkey. The loop will repeat. And without the true essence of the mind the monkey reverts back to a stone monkey and the 5 senses reject that destin one. Because it is literally just reincarnation leaving a broken shell but still incredibly powerful broken shell. And this is also why he trys to take the relics from us. Still trying to achieve the goal of reincarnation but unable to without the mind relic. And unable to take it from us even when we have it. Because it is literally part of the current destin one since he retrieved it. But just my thoughts on how it works 😅
@yugenelhc2 ай бұрын
That was my initial theory! And this theory is also popular in the Chinese community as well. But then I thought, if that's the previous destined one, why did they use the name "the Great Sage's broken shell"? And if he is the previous destined one, shouldn't he be a whole lot weaker or at the same level as the current destined one when they fight? There are logistics stuff I cannot sort out. Also I have to figure out why the Old Monkey put the headband on the destined one. That one bothers me a lot. So I gave up on that theory
@geraldcortez8262 ай бұрын
@@yugenelhc I actually think that the old monkey in the beginning of the game is the old monkey. But the old monkey at the end of the game is someone else. They look a bit different to me. I believe the monkey in the beginning looks older. But at the end of the game I feel he looks less old, just my opinion. And far as the old destin one is become that powerful because they had the relics. But I don't think that the broken shell is that powerful in the early stages. 🤔 but once he stole the relics. He become powerful. Of course there is a remnant of the power left in the old vessel. Of course this is only me trying to explain it. And it's a just a plot point to make a challenge for the player. Even a Sun WuKong hollow of his soul and power shouldn't be very powerful either in my humble opinion. Just a theory. And after being a WuKong fan for so long. I should have the same opinion as Chinese people. After all I have enjoyed the same tv shows and movies. Of course Chinese people have seen even more of these tv shows than me. After all they even made a weird tv cellphone show with WuKong and Pigsy 😆 so great things dealing with Sun WuKong in China. Anyway thank you again for your great videos

I always assumed that since they are aware they are in a loop the old monkey was simply resetting you until you gain wukongs Mind. After all you are to collect his roots in order to understand him and what responsibilities lie ahead. So maybe setting the headband is his way of saying you arent ready and you will just end up being back under the control of the court so do it again until you finally understand.

As you explained things of the game, to me Black Myth Wukong is based on Wukong Zhuan. You said Zhuan is like a bad take on Jouney to the west. That may be why it's called Black Myth. As far as I know, the Journey to the west ends with Wukong becoming a Buddha and that's all. Even if the destined one gets the good ending. They make it clear that the original Wukong is gone for good. He broke free even if the price was to die. Tahts whole story of Black Myth Wukong is the Wukong Zhuan. Thanks a lot for explaining all of the books lore. After the first time to finish the game I appreciated even more the game. And now knowing all that you explained makes it even better.

For guys who is still confused about the explanation for chapter five, I know it's still struggling to figuring out everything. Let me sorting the events on cutscene in time order: 1 bullking and wukong fight against celetial court (happened before journey to the west, also the first wrong choice made by bullking) 2 bullking's wife talks to him about the birth of Red boy(should be slightly before journey to the west, depending on the real age of red boy,but it doesnt matter) 3.Wukong joins journey to the west. When they meet Redboy, wukong seeks for help from guanyin. Guanyin subdue Redboy and make him her disciple.(matching wukong's line"you kid, I have given away) 4.Wukong and his team reach The coutry of female. Tang monk and Bajie drink from the river of childbearing and be pregnant. Wukong obtain the spring water for abortion(which is legal in China lol) by beating bullking's brother.(matching his line"your brother, ive disciplined") 5.Wukong's team reach the flaming mountain and want to borrow the fan to go across. Bullking refused and fight against wukong and celetial court. He failed and subdued. The scene where Rakshasa gives up the fans, wukong puts staff on his neck, bullking becomes a bull and be decapitated all belong to the event.(His second wrong choice) 6.Redboy escapes from Guanyin and return to flaming mountain, which is not shown in the cutscene.(should be slightly after journey to the west) 7.Bullking fights against wukong with celetial court, including black bear, yellow brow, erlang etc, and gains wukong's relic: body. This event is shown in the beginning and ending of the cutscene.(His third wrong choice) 8.Redboy call his father lapdog. He knows the truth of his birth.(after wukong is dead and bullking gets the relic) Regarding the facts about bullking family. They are all correct. Bullking and Rakshasa live separately. He is happy with the concubine fox guai who is pretty and rich. Bajie also kill the fox in both game and original story during the flaming mountain event. Regarding the interpretation of the relic, bullking's experience is just like this two-head pig. His whole life is in such two-sided dillema. He has to choose between brother and family. In the first time he chooses brother, in the last two he chooses family. But none of them has good end. He loses his best friends and family is also broken, making it so tragic.(Please keep in mind that in original story, only event 3-5 is correct. The rest are only in the game!!!)

The way that the animation of chapter 5 is constructed makes it very confusing. But the loop doesn't make sense to me. Even if Erlang retrieves all the pieces and distributes them again, it doesn't mean he can revive the dead yaoguay kings.
@Shaconogreed28 күн бұрын
@@MoonMillenniummon I may misunderstand what you mean. But in original story all yaoguai king in this game were not died. They were either the student of budda or subdued by budda/gods during jttw. Erlang just summon them in some way. If you mean in the cutscene bullking was decapitated.In the story he could not die by simply decapitated. The head would grown up again. But after six times of decapitation, he subdued to such torture. This part belongs to the fifth event in my first comments. Tell me if you still have something confusing.

Not having read Wukong Zhuan, I’m extremely grateful for this video! It sheds light on a lot of elements that now seem to make sense, including some parts of the animated shorts! I do think the Old Monkey has good chances to be the Tang Monk, as it would make sense for him to be the recipient of the stories of each Destined One, with the hopes of seeing one truly break free. Not fully sure about Erlang redistributing the relics every time though, it could also be how the old monkey says at the beginning that they spread across the world “on their own”, as a will imposed either by the Buddha, or something. I do wonder though why the Old Monkey keeps saying that Wukong’s mind is forever fully gone, since Erlang keeps it safe. Does it mean Erlang went under everyone’s nose? It does get implied in his journal entry that at least the Celestial Palace doesn’t know he has the Mind.
@emhgarlyyeung2 ай бұрын
Erlang & Tang Monk never cooperate in any version of adaptation of Wukong related story, so I think you guessed it right.
@InlandEmpireV2 ай бұрын
1. not every time only once, reincarnation is after the partition 2.the consciousness of any living being dissipates after death, but Erlang secretly stored wukong's memories 3. Ture , Erlang also has a considerable motivation in his own story to oppose the existing system, we joked that Wukong Erlang and Nezha were the three major anti-thieves, and we love the rebellious spirit in it
@LeSpicey2 ай бұрын
@@InlandEmpireV 1. That’s what I thought, I was just questioning an idea proposed by the video, where Erlang could be redistributing the relics every cycle. 2. That’s what the Old Monkey says, but the true ending and Erlang’s dialogue during the fight hint at the fact that the Mind was actually safeguarded. I doubt he only saved the memories, especially with how the Destined One seems to be awakening as the original Wukong ( the smirk and mischievous look at the camera in the true ending ) 3. Had the same feeling :D
@tsnoob46692 ай бұрын
I have a feeling that the Old Monkey is a previously failed Destined One. I mean, he knows that Wukong and the Destined One are not the same being and knows how without the Mind relic, the Destined One can never become the next Wukong. There's also a fact how similar the Old Monkey is to Wukong in the Stone as shown in the bad ending.
@LeSpicey2 ай бұрын
@@tsnoob4669 I think the Old Monkey probably isn’t, due to several factors, but I could be wrong. The first reason is that if the Destined One is the representation of Wukong’s Mind in a way, I would assume there can be only one at a time. That would be the lowest confidence one imo, since it’s entirely speculative. The second is the floating ribbon he has, denoting divinity, which would mean that he is about a few hundreds of years old if not more by that point, according to the way Journey to the West would describe it, and according to him, Wukong died about 500 years prior to us coming in iirc. Another reason is that he’s way too familiar with Bajie (at least in the Chinese version), and Bajie, on the contrary, doesn’t seem to know him that well from his current appearance. There’s also the implication of him solely being the recipient of the Destined Ones’ journeys from his journal entry, and the mention of gambling with Buddha and all That said, you could definitely be right, but I currently don’t see anything pointing to that direction :)

不一样,悟空传类似的故事很早就出现了,而且比这位主播描述的更加黑暗和可怕,也更加的悲情。

Yea. There are lot of interpretations or fan fictions made to the original JTTW story. Some are dark, some are light hearted (for example: 1996 JTTW)

@@yugenelhc sadly no english copy isn't? I really like to read Wukong Zhuan and yeah 1996 JTTW kinda light but its a hit on Indonesia esp. for 90's and 2000' kid

The split of Sun Wukong is confusing until we understand that man need to face his past , so an actual representation needs to be invented , and that is powerful.
