It would be way easier if you maxed out mana as much as possible and use spellbinder from the start. You can use the build and items to max mana, use spellbinder and then equip whatever items you want, the bonus damage from having max mana persists. Main items for this is the Thunderflame Seal Courio, that you can drop randomly from the Thunder Monks in Thunderclap Temple, you can have 3 of those equipped and have +90 MP. What I do is equip the 3 thunderflame seal, also equip the Gore Daoist for +15 MP, do Spellbinder and then equip Non-Able, Tiger Tally, the Green Beads and the Back scratcher for extra stamina.

I use this too. I stuck here for hour. But when i change to use SpellBinder i got a win at first try :D

@messyfringe exactly what I did. A dozen or so try's using my preferred style/skills but after running out of mana always had half heath left to just use martial arts attacks, then respec to Spellbinder and got him (might have been 2nd try but can't recall)

I didn't realise at the time but make sure you kill the scorpion boss before killing this one otherwise you can't fight it later

What does spell binder do? I’m on this boss currently 😭

@AyoKiyoshi it converts all your mana into raw Attack stats. You loose the ability to use spells etc but your attack stat goes up dramatically to do more damage for combos etc

@AyoKiyoshi you can use your Vessel, transformation and spirit then activate Spell binder, but if you use Any mana , you can't activate Spellbinder unless your mana is full. You can use spirit/ curiou to increase mana before activating and then actually change your curiou to something else like critical damage and the high attack from Spellbinder remains. Good luck

Just beat him, went all in with Spell Binder as well. This game does reward aggressiveness.

I tried many attempts with Pluck of Many / immobilise but didn't have much success in the 2nd phase. Had just unlocked Spellbinder and it worked well for this boss since his moves weren't too hard if you can stay under him, he just hits hard when that double slash lands when your in close.

@guristoski2625 I felt the end of chapter bosses where the worst, but I found if I re spec and changed a different strategy then I could do better against the bosses I struggled with using my 'default ' playing style / skill set. This boss was the first time I tried respec into Spellbinder, all other sparks from spells into hp/attack/def.

@guristoski2625 try a different approach. My son struggled with all chapter 1 bosses so I beat them for him excluding guangzhi and black bear and now he learnt more strategy, dodging and effectively using spells situationally, respec to suit boss moves/style and is at chapter 5 beating most bosses in less attempts than me!

Yer I was disappointed, after this fight I switched transformation to Azure dust to tank hits, allow time for speel cooldowns. Now using Blacksmith tiger for fun.
