Follow the journey of two Black Naped Oriole chicks, as they grow from baby to flying the coop two weeks later!
The black-naped oriole is a passerine bird in the oriole family that is found in many parts of Asia. They are currently quite common in Singapore.
The footage and editing of this video took 2 months to complete. This must be the longest delayed gratification I've been through since childbirth. 😂 Do give a 👍🏻 if you like the video. Thanks!

I have had the privilege of hosting 2 babies who must have been experimenting with their first flights. They landed in my garden and I looked after each of them for about 4 days, after which they started venturing further and further away until one good day they flew into taller trees and we dont see them again. We named the first one Birdy and the second one Chirpy. They came to our garden with an interval of 8 months. Your video has explained to us their journey and we now understand their development much better! Thanks for sharing.

Very blessed to live near this tree to witness this journey. Do you see the parents reusing the nest again? What camera did you use? You have been patient to shoot the clips and compile them into this nice video. Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks! The nest needs some rebuilding, it is since left empty and falling apart. I used Canon 60D with a basic 135mm zoom lens and tripod, thru the HDB glass window, which I wiped down to have better picture quality. 😁

Nicee.. quick qns. How often does it feed its young?
@EdelineLim
@EdelineLim 2 жыл бұрын
It was very often in the beginning, every hour it would be around 3 to 4 feedings. It was rather easy to wait for the feeding to capture the shot.
