That achievement for the mission Numbers wasn't that you can only use those dual-wield pistols, it's that you can only use dual-wield weapons. Which is why that mission is absolutely filled with almost nothing but dual-wield weapons

I remember as a kid I was like 5 or 6 playing the know mission, I remember replying the mission over and over again for hours just to break into the facility stealthily and accidentally getting Mr. Black ops without even realizing it, it took me basically the whole day because I was just a 5 or 6 year old, and kids back then use to suck ass at games and always get shit on I was also only using the cross bow to kill all the enemies

I don’t know if anyone else experienced it but on my veteran playthrough with this game, there was one checkpoint on Rebirth that was so fucked that you would literally spawn and then die immediately and the only way I got out of it was just shooting in the right spots for fractions of a second before moving on This happened about four years ago yet it was so bullshit that I remember it very well to this day Also a side note for anyone trying this; double trouble is NOT just the dual CZs, they just start you with the weapons to make it possible but basically you need ANY dual weird weapon throughout the mission, my personal choice was the dual Kiparis

i think u get the trophy on the numbers mission if you complete it only using dual-wield guns. You dont have to use the starting pistols. :)

I just finished playing the game today on regular difficulty, collected all the intel, too. I’m planning on getting Black Ops 6 by Christmas, so I thought I would go back to the very beginning of the series to refresh my knowledge of the story before I play the game to make sure I know what I’m dealing with in terms of context and references to past games. I considered playing the game again on “hardened” difficulty, but after completing the first mission, “Operation 40,” I decided that it wasn’t the effort, let alone the frustration.

Interesting note for the history buffs here; at 12:06 it shows the dates of and places of birth for Steiner, Dragovich, Kravchenko and, more crucially to this point, Reznov. It says Reznov was born in Leningrad in 1913 - before the Russian Revolution. Before Lenin was even in power. So it could never have been called that at his time of birth. Not to mention, before it was actually renamed Leningrad in 1924 after Lenin's death. You could make an argument that they used the period correct name for the city when the events of the game took place, but then why is Kravchenko's POB down at St Petersburg? Funny to see that, despite the care and attention to add any of these details in the first place, Treyarch managed to make such an odd mistake. I'm sure it was just a small oversight that didn't get caught during QC but quite interesting if you're a bit of a nerd like me.

23:58 MW2 and 3 don’t have any multiplayer trophies so that would only be a fun event you could organize with Twitch chat. Though, they do have 2 Spec Ops missions each that require 2 players. One of them, I did with my older brother when he wasn’t married yet and the other 3, I did all alone using 2 controllers because my little sister was always « busy » even on weekends and I got impatient. Anyway, a lot of those Spec Ops missions on Veteran really got on my nerves. More so, MW2. The campaign is also harder in MW2 compared to 3 but it’s not nearly as hard as COD 4 and WAW (don’t know about BO1 since I haven’t done it on Veteran yet but it also seems harder than MW2). I myself replayed the whole campaign on Veteran on the remaster recently (last time I did was in 2019 right after I got COD 4’s platinum trophy and bought back a PS3) to get the platinum trophy on this version too and only Act 3 had a couple painful missions for me (yes, I didn’t hate "Takedown" on Veteran this time around, it was difficult but not rage inducing personally). Btw, the remaster has some additional trophies for the campaign that result to the same number of trophies as the original game. But those additional trophies aren’t nearly as hard as the Spec Ops ones.

It is pretty difficult, yes (took me an hour) and it’s one of the additional trophies from the remaster. But that trophy still doesn’t compare to how painful the Spec Ops missions on Veteran can be.

This game came out during my freshman year of college and I remember myself and most of my friends felt that this game was a downgrade from Modern Warfare 2. In some ways it was but there were so many aspects of Black Ops 1 that we took for granted. It’s still one of my top 3 most played COD games that I’ve owned.
