I've always used frags because of the things you mentioned: you can cook them and have them virtually unavoidable and you can throw 'em way farther and rebound them around corners. And since they don't glow a lot of times people will walk right into them!

I prefer semtex for 2 reasons(subjective) : I feel it's more accurate, it goes where I throw it and stays there, also sticking someone is really satisfying :) Also, maybe this is just me but I always seem to get caught pants down while I'm cooking that frag. I keep it on average 2-4 seconds before throwing and to me it's just like if it was a firearm: would you like a gun that takes 3 or 4 seconds to reload? I don't

With a Semtex you can cancel the throw like a tactical grenade or some of the other lethal equipment like Tomahawks, bouncing betty, and c4. that's pretty useful if you try tossing a semtex and someone comes out of nowhere and shoots you, you can pull the semtex back in and shoot them back.

The bottom circumference is the most sticky part. You thrown is by pulling the needle and popping out the cap. You thrown it by the top holding the little hole throughout the top cap. But of course, this is just a game and I doubt they use it in the army. But the replicas are currently neon orange to see the matter in which the sticky part is shown. Plus, they do use a certain material on each of they're gloves. I don't know what the material is but I know that they use something that helps.

It was a grenade design to blow tanks up, but the sticky problems (the grenade itself was almost covered in some tipe of glue) meant it was not very popular, although it appeared on CoD:WaW. In this case, It's called Semtex, even though Semtex is an explosive composition, like C4, not a grenade, probably in CoD the Semtex grenade is something like a small round block of Semtex with a timed detonator, with a sticky surface.

the frag grenade is based of the normal type and can cook up to 5 sec´s, in 5 sec´s it will blow up so frags can be tactical if in the right hands, since if you just press rb people will see the indication before it blows and will move

My guess, if it could possibly be explained in any way, is that maybe the adhesive does not stick to particular fabric types and the characters have super secret glove fabric technology techniques. Maybe perhaps that the Semtex grenade has a hand-release mechanism that only activates an adhesive once it leaves your hand.

For Frag grenade use: when you cook a frag grenade, your crosshairs will pulsate for every second that the grenade is cooked. This should help people who have troubles properly timing how long you need to cook your grenades.

For everybody asking about C4 the kill range is 220 and the hit marker radius is 280. When compared to a grenade that has kill range of 200 and hit marker's of 240.

Don't forget that even if u cook a well timed Frag, another enemy can still get rid of it and not die if they immediately pick it up by having the FAST HANDS perk. ( which resets the timer for grenades)

Target finders, burst/fully auto pistols secondaries, UAV scan on the lightning strike, having multiple ways to protect/hide yourself against a high killstreak like the loadstar/swarm but a low killstreak like a sentry gun will shoot you no matter what you have on. Smg's having more penetration than a .50 cal sniper in some situations, strong lag compensation, spawning right beside enemies, spawns that don't flip even if enemies run through it or a lodestar fires at it.

Yup, the C4 is TOTALLY going to work for those extremely long tosses, grenade spots, wall bounces, and rolling tosses. C4 is superior in damage and easier to use, but frags have more tactical advantages. I use C4 for aggressive and mobile classes, and frags for everything else (unless I'm running around with combat axes for fun :D)

He's somewhat right. There was a sticky explosive they used in WWII that they would stick to tanks to blow them up. They were not thrown though.

good info. I don't use frag or tactical anymore, but I always favored frags compared to semtex. cause sometimes semtex just sticks to wierd surfaces and it's easier for enemies to take cover. frag on the other hand, can roll and that sometimes confuses enemies to run right to it. touche!!

I rarely use them like that. Semtex offensively because of the shorter fuse and reliable placement and Frags defensively because I have the time to cook them when I know someone's coming (and less need to be accurate about frags)

in frag you can hold the frag and throw it 1 sec before it blows up but semtex gives you time to run when you throw it

I play SnD pretty much only, so I use frags in the first 10 sec of the game. Every other game I make that first blood at the beginning of the round that usually makes the difference. Also, you're more likely to kill multiple people with the frag, since it has so much damage.

Because Halo has Plasma Grenades, which Semtex function exactly the same way as (its fuse igniting only after sticking to a target, preventing air-burst detonation, cannot be thrown back, have a smaller blast radius and high [but less than frags] damage as their fragmentation counterpart).

Actually if somone is chasing you, you can use the frag grenade behind and it works well, if you are running away with low health and you check and grenade behind you, people probaly arent gonna try run through the grenade

I have no idea but it's not a lot. Simply playing with any gun you desire to unlock attachments for is the best way to do it. Just play and kill. It's not going to take more than 2-3 hours max to unlock all the attachments, you can be a lot faster too if you get a lot of kills.

Semtex works for me so no point in changing. Still clears objectives 90% of the time, sometimes I get weird hitmarkers even when people with no flak jacket lie on top of them. But mostly the hitmarkers are flak jacket so doesn't matter.

Flashbang, concussion, shock charge can have a 9+ on a rate of 1-10. sensor grenade, emp grenade and black hat get an 8+ on a 1-10. trophy system is like a 6, tactical insertation and smoke bomb are like a 2

I would aegue it's situational. Semtex I prefer on rush classes where I am tooo close too have time to cook a nade, but nades are better at midd to long distances where you can time them and make use of their increased kill range.

I noticed Tmartn tip on semtex does not work in BO 2. If you got stuck by a semtex, ran to a wall and looked down, you would be able to survive the explosion.

The C4 can be tactical as well as an instant blow-up (double smash the button). Much better than semtex or frag. Downside of course is that the distance is not as far.

i only use frag in Domination and hardpoint, but i prefer it over the semtex, because it works good for the game types. You can bounce the frag off walls and cook it to a point where the enemy doesn't even know what hit em. In BO1, i hated the frag and only used semtex (when i wasn't using tomahawk), but in BO2, i like the frag for dom and hardpoint so much that i havent even unlocked the semtex in 7 prestiges...

the semtex only has less damage because it tends to stick unlike the frag if u dont cook it it is possible to bounce of the the player and he gets a chance to escape but sometimes i through the semtex and it sticks to a wall and just before it blows up i get to that place and end up dead

Someone already mentioned the C4 and yeah I agree. However, the clear advantage to the Semtex is it STICKS. My Use-to-Kill with the Semtex is ~20% > than that of the Grenade. You and I like DOM -- often I toss a Semtex right in the middle of e.g 'B' and I know it's there, the problem with a Grenade is it bounces and rolls-off and poof you lost 'B'. Also Semtex is the easiest way to kill a Shield guy.

Does anyone else throw a shock charge against a wall, and a C4 next to it? It really worked for me. The shock charge makes a hit marker no matter where you are, and you can remote detonate wherever you are. It's a deadly combo.

Semtex is a plastic explosive, similar to C4, but just a little more powerful. Why it is presented under sticky-grenade form is beyond me, as I do not believe semtex was ever used in any conflict as a thrown grenade.

For example, if you lob a frag in the middle of of a group of six guys is the total damage from the blast absorbed equally by all six (effectivley 200 damage/6) or does it inflict 200 damage to each poor soul? Well no, the semtexes developed these days were based off of make-shift ones used for quite a while (including WW2). They were made by soliders just getting random bits of cloth, covering it in tar (I think) and just sticking a frag inside.

They should patch the Semtex, not by making it weaker, but by making it so the timer starts after it lands on something, keeping it's short 3 seconds, meaning very little to someone who gets stuck by it, but meaning a lot to the guy who is running around, not camping, and just happens to get caught in the blast radius after too short a notice.
